As you step inside Rockland House, you will be greeted by a beautifully designed interior that exudes charm and comfort. After a day by the sea, look forward to sinking into the luxurious La-Z-Boy electric reclining chair in the plush sitting area, where you can unwind in front of the 65” Smart TV or enjoy a movie night with the DVD player.

When the evening draws to a close, retire to one of the three immaculate bedrooms. Choose from two king-size bedrooms, both boasting Smart TVs for those lazy mornings in bed or opt for the inviting twin room, also equipped with a Smart TV.

Serving the bedrooms is a sleek bathroom, a haven of relaxation, featuring underfloor heating, a luxurious bath, and a spacious walk-in shower that will rejuvenate your senses.

The cleverly placed lights create a soothing ambience, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring the local area.

In the warmer months, step outside, where you can enjoy a spot of alfresco dining on the patio or decking area, or simply relax on the lawn. As the evening grows darker, gather around the chiminea for warmth and an evening star gaze, or savour a moment of relaxation to indulge in a soothing soak in the hot tub. Listen out for the resident owl. A short walk from Rockland House and you will arrive at Brixham Harbour with Britain’s largest fish market and the town with a variety of shops.

Ready to be a pirate – Brixham is home to the world-famous and annual Brixham Pirate Festival. Home to the Golden Hind pirate ship, Sir Francis Drake’s Tudor galleon where you can climb aboard and step into history. The famous Annual Brixham Pirate Festival has children’s entertainment, live music, sea shanty and skirmishes including firepower displays and cannon fire. Visit Berry Head, a national nature reserve on the Headland overlooking Brixham and Torbay. Visit the iconic lighthouse and Napoleonic Fort which is surrounded by water on three sides and offers exceptional views across Torbay and beyond. You can enjoy superb coastal walks, spot the wildlife on land and at sea or relax in the award-winning Guardhouse Café. Fancy a spot of outdoor swimming, Shoalstone Seawater Pool is open all year round and is free to use and built into a natural rock pool that has been used since the Victorian times. There are toilets, a restaurant, a snack bar for the children and a handy shop. A short drive to neighbouring Goodrington Sands and you will find further beaches and the Splashdown Water Park overlooking the beach where you will also find watersports for all available. If you are up for a challenge, why not test your putting skills at Pirates Bay Adventure Golf, a fun activity for all ages? Unleash your inner archaeologist with a visit to Kents Cavern Prehistoric Caves, home to Devon's oldest rocks and ancient fossils. If you are too tired to cook, visit a variety of restaurants and bistros just walking distance from Rockland House, including, Vigilence great for a family meal, or for a culinary experience or a special occasion visit the fantastic fish restaurants such as Beamers and Rockfish which offer fresh fish from the Harbour daily. Fancy an adventure – visit Dartmouth steam railway to travel by steam train from Paignton to Kingswear and then take a river cruise to the pretty harbour town of Dartmouth with cobbled streets and boutiques and the nearby town of Totnes. Look out for market days which is a real treat. Animal lovers should include a trip to the Paignton Zoo Environmental Park, home to a variety of species from all over the globe. A visit to Paignton Pier with Lost City Adventure Golf, and cool off with ice cream or even fish and chips whilst walking along the sandy beach. You can use the number 12 bus to take you all around Torbay (Brixham, Paignton and Torquay) or travel by ferry from Brixham to Torquay. As evening falls, enjoy a leisurely supper at The Old Market House overlooking Brixham harbour, while reflecting on the day's exploration. Brixham is a working fishing harbour located on the southern side of Torbay, the area known as The English Riviera, famed for its sunny mild climate all year round. The focal point of the harbour is a life size replica of The Golden Hind, Sir Francis Drake’s ship. The prettiest part of Brixham has small cottages in hilly narrow winding lanes leading to the harbour where all the activity is centred. Home to Britain’s largest fishing fleet which regularly lands their catch in the harbour, Brixham fish market sells to major restaurants in the UK. Brixham is the ideal destination for a traditional holiday with many family attractions around Torbay including two Blue Flag beaches, Paignton Zoo and many regattas and maritime events throughout the year. There are a host of safe cycle trails in the area, the South West Coastal Path and some of the best golf courses in the region. A good mix of relaxation or action, to suit all ages, where you are never far from the sea.
