Wander down to Paignton’s 18th-century harbour (2 miles) to watch the fishing boats coming and going and to sample a catch of the day at one of the exquisite seafood restaurants. After dinner, stroll hand in hand along the red sands of Fairy Cove, one of Paignton’s hidden gems, tucked away behind the harbour wall. Keen walkers will be in their element, with a wonderful selection of routes to explore. Pull on your hiking boots and stride out along the South West Coast Path to Brixham (6.6 miles) or head inland to discover the rugged beauty of Dartmoor National Park (13 miles).
