About this property
Spacious and light, Downbridge Lodge has been beautifully constructed in 2020 as a single-storey, barn style holiday home for four guests with flexible accommodation.
The living areas in this charming property are open-plan with light and airy vaulted ceilings, mood lighting and a cosy wood burning stove. There is a large dining area with seating for six guests along with a contemporary kitchen with granite worktops. Downbridge Lodge benefits from two en-suite bathrooms, a separate wet room, accessible doorways and bi-fold doors which lead onto the large stone terrace. Both bedrooms provide flexible accommodation with zip and link beds which can be configured as either 6’ super-king size or twin single beds, equally ideal for families and friends looking to holiday in this delightful area.
Outside, a fire pit and barbecue are provided and you can dine alfresco in all weathers, thanks to the illuminated covered seating area, or just sit back and admire the stunning countryside views. There is a secure shed which has plenty of space if you wish to bring your bicycles along. There's also a large covered indoor and outdoor games areas offering table tennis, pool, darts, snooker, table football, croquet and boules.
A short walk away, via a public footpath to the rear of the property, is the pretty and historic village of Hoxne. Here you will find The Swan Inn, serving delicious meals and a wonderful selection of fine wines and real ales. The village also benefits from a shop, café, delicatessen, church and post office.

Thank you Stuart for a lovely country escape. The property was excellent and warm. Our boys have convinced me to copy the games room at our own home (somehow!) I found the Hoxne history and sense "things just happen here" very striking, as highlighted by the sign posts and exceptional audio trail composed for the village. A lovely comfortable stay in a quite special part of Suffolk. We hope to return. Take care.

This place is fantastic and we had such a warm welcome from Stuart. The location is ideal to tour around and we still have so many places to visit so we will be back for sure. We were so lucky with the weather, much better than Paris where we come from so that was a treat. Thanks Stuart for being so kind and helpful. Our 40 year wedding anniversary meal at the Oaksmere restaurant you recommended was a success. See you next year.
