Rising above the beautiful seafront of Aldeburgh, Suffolk, Shingle Skies is a duplex apartment that is part of a traditional townhouse and is close to a beach and local amenities. Reaching the first-floor of this townhouse, you will be met with a delightful open-plan sitting area with bay windows drawing in natural light, where a contemporary kitchen in pale green meets period features, with a traditional fireplace housing a woodburning stove, beside which, a selection of sofas create a spot for coffee as you enjoy the seaside views and plan the day ahead of you, or enjoy a heart-warming meal served at the dining table. On the second-floor three bedrooms await your relaxation, all decorated in a variety of seaside hues, beginning with a king-size with an en-suite, a second king-size where guests can enjoy a view of the sun setting over the ocean and a twin. Enjoy breakfast outside in the shared sitting area (available from Easter to October half term) with a view to the beach before heading out to explore the local area. Almost on your doorstep there is a fantastic Aldeburgh pebble beach just waiting to be explored, so why not take a walk in the salty air and enjoy a picnic or even try out a new water sport? Local shops offer a range of produce, including bakeries and artwork, and you can enjoy lunch in the sunshine at one of the local restaurants. Walkers will love the Haven Nature Reserve and Snape path and for a peak at the town’s local history, visit Aldeburgh Hall or Aldeburgh Museum. Make a holiday to remember with a stay at Shingle skies.
The popular, vibrant seaside town of Aldeburgh is famous for its culture, traditional feel and one of the best fish and chip shops in the country! Aldeburgh and Snape Maltings are home to one of the world’s greatest music festivals and has been named as one of the top 50 places to live in Britain. Crag Path runs along the seafront dividing the beautiful pebbly beach from the unspoilt pastel-coloured seafront properties and the town. The beach is a popular place for groups and couples to enjoy the wonderful fish and chips throughout the summer months. The town is steeped in history and has become a wonderful town for shopping with a good mixture of independent and chain stores to enjoy. The town also offers a good selection of pubs and restaurants or why not buy some freshly caught fish from the huts on the seafront and cook up your own feast at home. For those wishing for a more action-packed holiday there is excellent walking, cycling, sailing and golf at Aldeburgh. Growing in popularity you will want to return to Aldeburgh again and again!

It is the best holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in and we loved the town of Aldeburgh, Everything was perfect and the views across the North Sea will stay with us forever. Thank you.

However, when we arrived in January the temperature in the property was 16C. The heating is set to a cost-saving timer (that can't be overridden) and so the property never got above 18C. We raised our concerns with BestofSuffolk and it took nearly 2 days for it be resolved. The owner could have easily switched the heating on but insisted on not doing so until we raised the issue for a 3rd time. I would not stay in this property from Oct to March, as you will be cold. Bestofsuffolk where very poor in handling the issue and dealing with an owner that is more interested in saving money than giving a good experience to their customers.
