This lovely, spacious mid-terrace property backs onto the River Teme and offers pretty riverside views, whilst being close to a range of amenities, in the centre of Ludlow, Shropshire. Troutbeck Cottage is ideal for a couple wanting to explore the countryside of the Shropshire Hills and Mid Wales, as well as being within easy reach of the city of Hereford or town of Shrewsbury by car or train. Enter the property into the compact but well-equipped galley-style kitchen, with all of the necessary appliances to cook a romantic meal for two, to be enjoyed in the dining/sitting room, with a dining table set for two. Afterwards, you can relax on the sofa and enjoy a film on the TV, or move into the conservatory for a relaxing rest, overlooking the river. Throw open the patio doors so you can hear the gentle river flowing by, or sit out on the small patio with a celebratory drink at the end of a day of exploring. Upstairs is a spacious double bedroom, which overlooks the river and has lots of storage for your belongings, along with the large shower room, decorated in white and blue hues, with period features and wood panelling on the walls. There is a parking permit for one car close to the property which will be allocated by the owner upon request. The property is situated on a road that has a few pubs on it, while Ludlow town centre is a five-minute walk away, with a range of shops, pubs and restaurant. This historic town has plenty of fascinating architecture, with over 500 listed buildings and one of the first built castles in England, Ludlow Castle, which has stood for over 900 years. The castle is open all-year-round and hosts a variety of events, including food, art, literature and outdoor theatre, while just below the castle you will find Millennium Green, a riverside green with a wonderful café. Be sure to catch a street market, which have been taking place in the main square since the 12th century, nowadays you will find over 40 stalls selling fresh produce, books, local crafts and more, every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday with specialist Craft or Antique & Flea markets on most Thursdays and Sundays. Visit the nearby Whitcliffe Common Nature Reserve and enjoy scenic walking trails, and head into the Shropshire Hills for more incredible walks amidst rolling hills and charming villages. The town has a fascinating display of architecture, with its 900-year-old castle, one of the first to be built in England, along with more than 500 listed buildings. The castle is open all year round and hosts a range of events, including outdoor theatre, food, art and literature festivals. Millenium Green sits below the castle and offers a large riverside green and weir, plus excellent indoor and outdoor dining facilities via the Green Café, located right on the riverside. Cottage was tastefully decorated and within 10 minutes walk to the lovely town of Ludlow. Kingfisher, Egrets, Cormorants and an Otter were visible from the verandah whilst relaxing with a glass of wine.

And thank you for sorting out the parking permits and what-not. The cottage is beautiful, was spotless when we arrived I think, and is perfectly comfortable for two people. (Ludlow was great fun to explore as well.) The one thing I'd change/fix was the oven, which could do with a little attention - the bottom oven doesn't seem to work (?), and the top oven takes a long time to work, but it does eventually and the hobs are electric so they're fine. :)
