Guests appreciate the property's suitability for large family gatherings and its proximity to local attractions. While some guests mention the need for refurbishment and a deep clean, the overall sentiment is positive, with many looking forward to returning.
Guests have generally found The Mews to be clean, with specific praise for the well-kept garden. However, some reviews mention a need for a deeper clean, particularly in the lounge and outdoor furniture, which has affected the score.
The location of The Mews is highly regarded, being in a peaceful village close to beaches and local amenities. Its proximity to Bridlington and other attractions makes it an ideal base for exploring the area.
The property is often described as spacious and comfortable, with ample room for large groups and a cosy living area. Some guests, however, have suggested that the mattresses could be more comfortable.
The Mews is well-equipped, especially the kitchen, and the large garden is a highlight. Points were deducted for maintenance issues such as broken garden furniture and the need for updates in some areas.
The host, Sarah, is frequently mentioned for her thoughtfulness, including welcoming gestures like providing starter items and organising a treasure hunt. While such personal touches are appreciated, they are not guaranteed for every stay.

The shared garden is great. It's massive and our kids really enjoyed it there. The owner has gone above and beyond with little details about the local area, she has created leaflets wuth useful informationand is easy to contactif you have any issues. If you are chatty then you will enjoy it here as the owner comes to the property a couple of times a day, to weed in the garden and check the bins and compost. The house itself is a great size however could use some updates. The bathrooms have a strong smell of damp, and the drains are a little backed up. The water pressure on the electric showers are poor. The mattresses could do with updating as they're not the most comfortable. Also there is a shared utility with an average sized washing machine for 4 cottages. As we had 5 mucky children, it meant we did quite a bit of washing. Potentially an industrial washer or more than one would be useful. Do to the weather there were a lot of flys. Not sure ifvthe compost bins added to this. We had a lovely time, but with some tweaks thus house could be amazing.

The owner, Sarah, was very helpful and seems to enjoy having people to stay - she kindly brought chocolates round when one of our party had a birthday - a special touch. We had 7 young children with us and the large garden was wonderful for them, and well used both in the mornings and when we got back from our day trips. I know it's probably inevitable in a dog friendly property, but the only downside was that the lounge had a doggy smell about it. But on the whole, we would be happy to return again. Thank you, Sarah!

We spent the first hour of our stay vacuuming cobwebs off the lounge ceiling and walls, washing dirty oven trays so we could cook our tea, and cleaning the dirt and bird droppings off the outdoor furniture so we could sit on it. The utility room seems to of become a dumping ground with all sorts of stuff piled high. The 'mini mews' shed could be a great little den for the kids, but currently is just cluttered with old toys, many of which are broken. With a little effort the Mews could be really lovely, but currently is in need of a deep clean and a declutter.
