The cottage receives high marks for cleanliness, with multiple reviews mentioning it was spotless and a high priority for guests. One review noted the need for better cleaning of cobwebs and dust, but this seems an isolated comment amidst overall excellent feedback.

The location is consistently praised for being central and close to local amenities, with easy access to shops, pubs, and the coast. The convenience of the location contributes significantly to the positive experiences of the guests.

Comfort is generally well-regarded, especially the cosy living area and comfortable beds. However, some guests found the mattresses uncomfortable, and one mentioned the bed being too low, which suggests room for improvement in this area.

Guests frequently mention the thoughtful touches, such as welcome gifts of wine, biscuits, and even dog treats. While these are well-received, it is important to note that such gifts are a bonus and may not be provided with every stay.

About this property

Ogle Cottage is a lovely holiday let located in the pretty village of Flamborough, in the East Riding of Yorkshire. Set over three floors, this end-terrace boasts a cosy interior with bundles of character making you feel right at home. Step inside to find an open-plan living room showcasing a well-appointed kitchen with a gas range cooker. A breakfast bar divides the kitchen and sitting area, where you can enjoy your morning coffee. Get cosy in the sitting room, with the dog lying in front of the electric imitation woodburner. Set in the inglenook of the room, it adds a lovely warm glow to a chilly winter's evening. You have a TV with a built in DVD player and comfy armchairs to spread yourselves out on. The second floor plays host to a large double bedroom with fitted wardrobes and a family bathroom offering a roll top bath. Enjoy a relaxing soak after exploring all the Flamborough Heritage Coast has to offer, or refresh yourself under the walk-in shower at the start of your day. Up on the top floor, you have a second double bedroom resting under the eaves, with views out over the rooftops of the village. Flamborough has plenty of eateries and shops, as well as much to offer historians and birdwatchers alike. To the north of the village, the 400 feet high cliffs are home to one of the largest colonies of nesting sea birds in England, whilst South Landing has some fascinating natural trails. This is a fabulous base for those looking to find a quality break near the sea.

Flamborough is perched on the East Coast of Yorkshire, 4 miles from Bridlington. With fishermen's cottages and a selection of pubs and restaurants, Flamborough has much to offer the rambler, historian and birdwatcher. There are cliffs forming an 8-mile stretch of Heritage coastline, and at Flamborough Head, stand lighthouses, one of which is the oldest one in Britain.

From the moment we walked through the door we were impressed The cottage is cosy but not cramped. You walk through the back door into the kitchen area, which is very usable. Lots of cupboards with plenty of crockery, cutlery, pans etc. The large range cooker is great, gas hob with electric ovens and grill. The breakfast bar which separates the kitchen from the living area is great for serving up food. The living area is comfortable with a large settee and an armchair The dining table when pulled out seats 4 in comfort The front porch is handy for coats and shoes. We didn’t use the front door as traffic passes very close to the building. Upstairs the double bedroom is a lot larger than the photos show with a very big fitted double wardrobe with drawers. There is also a dressing table with a stool. Lots of power points and lights just where you need them. The decoration and curtains are lovely. The bathroom is divine. The large bathtub is superb although it does take a while to fill but there was no shortage of hot water. The large separate shower was invigorating The top floor has two single beds but can be made into a king size bed on request This also has lots of wardrobe space and drawers. Outside at the back is a lovely seating area with table and 4 chairs with a gate to keep children or pets enclosed. This is a lovely sun trap when the weather is good. The stairs to the first floor run from the back door in the kitchen and are very steep. The second floor is reached by a further set of stairs past the bathroom up to the second bedroom. We are in our mid to late 70s so no problem. But could be difficult with small children or less able bodied. The cottage is well placed for shops and pubs and some lovely walks to the coast either at North or South Landing. There is no grassy area at the cottage so it does mean a short walk around the corner to the green for doggy exercise and toilet. Overall we were very impressed and would highly recommend
