Guests say

Bride Cross Granary is highly praised for its cleanliness, stunning location, and comfort. Guests appreciate the well-maintained property, beautiful gardens, and thoughtful touches from the welcoming owners. The cottage's facilities, including a sauna, are commended, although the kitchen may be compact for some. The property offers a peaceful retreat with easy access to local attractions.

Reviewers consistently mention the cottage's cleanliness, noting it was very clean throughout. Slippers are provided, adding to the sense of hygiene and care.

The property is lauded for its beautiful and peaceful location, with easy access to local towns and stunning views. The proximity to hills and nature is a highlight, although the mention of steep hills suggests it may be challenging for some without a car.

Guests find the accommodation comfortable, with special mentions of the garden seating area and the sauna. The property is described as cosy, and the electric heaters are effective, although there is a note about the bedding needing a refresh.

The facilities are generally well-received, with positive comments on the sauna and garden. However, the kitchen is noted to be compact with a sensitive smoke alarm, and the two-ring hob may limit cooking options.

The owners' thoughtfulness is evident through the provision of eggs, milk, and logs, as well as tea, coffee, and biscuits on arrival. While these gestures are greatly appreciated, guests should note that such gifts, though delightful, may not be guaranteed.

Inside, make use of a well-equipped kitchen, where delicious home-cooked meals can be prepared to be enjoyed at the dining table or even in the sitting area, where a woodburning stove takes centre-stage, or you can sit, relax and enjoy the beautiful Washburn Valley view on the designated area at the rear of the property. Harrogate is also accessible by car and is home to the serene Valley Gardens and The Stray, perfect for walks with your partner on a sunny afternoon, or if you’re up for something spooky as the months grow darker, join a Harrogate Ghost Walk, if you dare. Further afield you can find Leeds, a lively city full of museums such as The Leeds Industrial Museum, which was at one point in history the world’s largest woollen mill, natural landmarks including the Kirkstall Valley Nature Reserve, and for those soap-opera enthusiasts, book onto The Emmerdale Village Tour where you can experience the setting of one of Britain’s most-enduring television series. Enjoy all of this and more during a stay at Bride Cross Granary.

Only eight miles from Harrogate, the historic market town of Otley is located in Lower Wharfedale and is on the border between North and West Yorkshire. Otley, which is rich in history, has a lot to offer tourists, including numerous family-friendly activities that take place all year long. Three street markets every week, a monthly farmers' market, numerous specialty stores, award-winning bakeries and butchers, high-street chains, and three supermarkets can be found in Otley. Good cuisine and a selection of drinks are available at the many traditional pubs and inns. The charming Riverside Park offers lovely walks along the River Wharfe, which flows through the centre of the town, and Chevin Forest Park's forested slope, cliffs, and moorland offers breathtaking views of both the city and the magnificent surroundings. Otley has a bellman who announces the news and happenings of the town, which adds to its attractiveness. One of the most picturesque spots in the area is close by Bolton Abbey, and the walk along the river to the "Strid" is essential. There is a wonderful assortment of stores, pubs, restaurants, and cafés in Ilkley and Harrogate, including Bettys Tea Rooms, unquestionably the best tea shop in Yorkshire. The ideal starting point for exploring this region of Yorkshire is Wharfedale.

The annex was clean and comfortable. Rose’y and John were really welcoming and helpful. They also generously let us stay later when our plans had to change due to the snow. The kitchen is well-equipped and we had everything we needed. We were staying during a particularly cold week but rooms were quick to warm up and hold their heat so we were more than comfortable. We enjoyed our meal at the nearest pub too - The Roebuck; and found some lovely shops in Otley. Harewood House was a lovely visit not too far away too.
