Guests have praised Wayside Farm for its beautiful location, comfortable furnishings, and well-equipped facilities. The cottage's snug area with a log fire, comfortable beds, and reliable Wi-Fi are frequently mentioned highlights. While some guests suggested minor improvements, the overall sentiment is that the property provides a cosy, homely experience in the Yorkshire Dales, with many expressing a desire to return.
There is no specific mention of cleanliness in the reviews, so it is not possible to provide an accurate score for this category.
The location is consistently described as beautiful, with amazing scenery and direct access to walks. The village's tranquillity and proximity to a pub and tea shop are appreciated, contributing to a high rating.
Comfort is a strong point, with multiple reviews highlighting the comfortable beds, cosy seating, and the overall homely feel of the cottage. The presence of en suites and a well-received snug area with a log fire support a high comfort rating.
Facilities are generally praised, including the well-equipped kitchen and the presence of multiple TVs. However, some guests noted a lack of wood for the stoves and a non-operational log burner, which suggests room for improvement in maintenance.
The property is considered well-equipped and thoughtful in its amenities, with touches like feather duvets and pillows. While gifts like milk or wine are not consistently provided and are not guaranteed, the provision of information and the owner's responsiveness are seen as considerate gestures.

Muker is a settlement and civil parish in North Yorkshire, England, at the western end of Swaledale, one of the Yorkshire Dales. It is located within the Richmondshire district. Muker has seen an increase in visitors and holidaymakers since the late 1800s, and today the village offers a variety of walking possibilities, including a network of public footpaths in Upper Swaledale. Muker also has a village shop, a tavern (The Farmers Arms), an art gallery, a craft shop, and a café housed in an old school building. The Muker village tea store, which was formerly the Vicarage, was erected in 1680 and retains much of its 'Olde worlde beauty' today. The Muker Village shop has a Park Information Point for the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The Parish Church of Saint Mary, a Grade II* listed building, is the only church in the settlement. The River Swale runs alongside the settlement, with Kisden Hill providing a lovely backdrop.

The log burner in the kitchen/diner appeared to be out of order with the cord door liner detached and lying loose. A warning note should have been left - rang the caretaker who confirmed it should not be used. He also said a bag of logs would be left for us the following morning for the fire in the sitting room - which they were. House took a while to warm up but after this misstep everything was great. The house is very well kitted out with super comfy beds and a really excellent sofa. All the kitchen equipment is good and the layout of the kitchen/diner makes for companionable cooking and chatting. The walks right from the doorstep are fabulous and we were lucky to be there when the newly reopened pub had just started providing food - the tea shop is also excellent. The house provided a fabulous base for exploring beautiful Swaledale and we were fortunate to experience the wonders of the Northern Lights while we were there.

Well kitted out to do everything you may get need. Pub which is a stones throw away is in process of changing to community ownership and at this point was open for drinks only on Friday / Saturday / Sunday. Village shop has the basics.
Paul
Good quality cottage. Very responsive owner who organised a prompt repair for a faulty shower. The community is seeking to buy the village pub, which is the only nearby place to eat out in the evening. With the current owner it is absolutely necessary to book for food, and the more notice the better. Their beer is good.
