The Old Watchmaker's Shop in Pickering receives high praise for its charming character, well-maintained gardens, and ideal location for exploring the Yorkshire countryside. Guests appreciate the cosy atmosphere, dog-friendly secure garden, and proximity to a welcoming local pub. While some minor maintenance issues and inconsistencies with towel provision are noted, the overall experience is of a comfortable and inviting cottage, perfect for couples and their pets.
Most guests found the cottage to be clean and cosy. There were a few mentions of cobwebs and a need for airing upon arrival, but these seem to be isolated incidents rather than a common trend.
The cottage's location is highly praised for its proximity to local walks, a friendly pub, and the ease of exploring the surrounding areas. Its setting in a quiet village is also appreciated for relaxation.
Guests report the cottage as cosy and comfortable, with a log burner for warmth and a well-equipped kitchen. The secure garden adds to the comfort for pet owners. However, some guests mentioned the lounge as a bit drab and the shower temperature control as iffy.
The cottage is well-equipped with a modern kitchen and a large garden. Some guests noted issues with the shower, Wi-Fi, and TV aerial, and a few found the furniture and utensils to be a bit tired.
While guests enjoyed the provision of games, books, and a log fire, there are no specific mentions of gifts. Therefore, it cannot be determined if thoughtfulness in terms of gifts was a factor in their stay.

Definitely home from home, bonus being the Pub nearby. We all enjoyed our holiday and the Terriers loved the secure garden, if they are happy we are too. Would love to go back again soon. Thank you.

This was the best cottage holiday we have had by a country mile. The village of Cropton with The New Inn right next door is an ideal setting. This was made all the better by our neighbours and their Labrador Bella who arrived and departed within minutes of us, (lovely people). We couldnt believe how quickly the week went there was so much to see and do we want to return as soon as we can
