About this property

Nestled in the heart of the idyllic Sandsend valley, this charming hillside cottage offers a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature’s finest. The approach is enchanting—cross a quaint wooden footbridge over the gentle beck, where the water babbles softly beneath, and ascend a flight of steps that lead you to the cottage’s welcoming entrance.

The cottage has an entrance porch, a lovely sitting room with a window seat and superb views, a flat screen TV and gas gas-fired stove.

There is a charming kitchen/dining area with granite tops electric oven and hob, a microwave and fridge freezer, plus a dining area with seating and views over the rear garden and a cloakroom/WC.

On the first floor is a smart double bedroom with a double bed, stunning views across the Valley, and a shower room tiled in natural stone, with a shower, WC and hand wash basin.

All bed linen is provided, along with towels and tea towels. We do not however, provide Beach Towels.

There are sloping gardens to the front with two seating areas, apple trees, and a delightful private rear garden with colourful borders, a terrace, quality furniture and an electric BBQ.

Lying on Yorkshire's spectacular Heritage Coastline, Sandsend is the ideal place for a family holiday with its award winning, wide sweeping beaches, rock pools and dramatic cliffs. Indeed this part of the coastline is known locally as the Dinosaur Coast because of the many fossils found here. In the season, beachside stalls offer everything from light snacks and drinks to boats, buckets and spades! Children will enjoy damming the little beck where it crosses the beach to form a freshwater lagoon - great (and safe) for paddling and boating! For the more energetic the village sits on the lovely long distance Cleveland Way Trail, which offers great off-road cycling along the disused coastal railway as well as breathtaking clifftop walks. The National Trust now own the nearby headland, Sandsend Ness, where there is a delightful nature trail in the old quarry pits. A special place with something for everyone!

Well furnished and clean, the owners got in touch a couple of days before to check if we needed anything to get in touch, which was very kind. Couldn’t have asked for anything as it was perfect

The cottage was absolutely spotless with everything we needed. We had a lovely holiday exploring the coast and the moors, both of which were within easy reach.
