2 Crosslands is situated in the charming village of Stockton-On-The-Forest, just a short drive away from the historic city of York. This semi-detached home is a former railway cottage, which now enjoys a pretty interior with a countryside-feel, idyllic for families and friends. Be greeted by off-road parking before entering the spacious kitchen/diner for a refreshment after your journey. The contemporary space features cream units with an electric range cooker to prepare home-cooked meals and a dining area to catch-up on the day’s adventures at mealtimes. The sitting room is the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring North Yorkshire, with a sofa and armchair to read or watch the Smart TV. Patio doors lead out to the large lawn; here you can savour a glass of wine on balmy evenings and admire the peaceful setting. As the day draws to night, retire inside and venture upstairs to find the family bathroom for a soak in the large bath or a rinse in the separate shower. You can also enjoy York’s many bars, restaurants, art galleries, theatres, ghost walks and bespoke shops including the Designer Outlet, and not forgetting a day at the races. Also within easy reach of the cottage are the Yorkshire Wolds and North Yorkshire Moors, both a walkers’ paradise together with the Howardian Hills and the stunning Castle Howard house and estate. You can also visit the nearby market towns of Malton and Pickering where you can catch the famous steam railway travelling across the moors to the East Coast with stops along the way in Heartbeat country. In addition The Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington, Eden Camp, a World War 2 experience, and Flamingo Land and Zoo are all short drives away. Within easy reach you will find the stunning East Coast including the Fishing Town of Whitby, home to Dracula, its Abbey and cobbled streets. The lovely city of York is only four miles away.     Excellent property had everything we needed and more Catherine very helpful and friendly and left us a lovely welcoming pack very peaceful area and only five minutes walk for bus to York would definitely stay again Larry Lena and Gillian

    Yorkshire as always was lovely, the weather not so good,but it was nice to have such a comfortable,cosy home from home to return to.Catherine the owner was very friendly and after three hours on the motorway in Friday afternoon traffic the welcome gift was a lovely surprise.
