Guests say

Penrallt Cottage is highly praised for its spaciousness, stunning views, and peaceful surroundings. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable living spaces, and the added bonus of a beautiful raised decking area. The property serves as an excellent base for exploring local attractions, with many guests expressing a desire to return. The owners are frequently mentioned for their friendliness and helpfulness.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage is consistently described as clean and tidy, with only minor mentions of cobwebs and a dirty door. The overall impression is of a well-maintained property.

The location is celebrated for its stunning views over the Menai Straits and its proximity to local amenities and attractions. Some guests mention the rough track leading to the cottage and the steep incline to the village as minor drawbacks.

Guests find the cottage spacious and the living areas comfortable. However, there are comments about hard beds and uncomfortable bunk bed mattresses, suggesting room for improvement in this area.

The property is well-equipped with a good range of kitchen items and a utility room. Criticisms include temperamental showers, difficulty with locking doors, and the need for a tumble dryer. The lack of a visitors' book and local leaflets due to COVID-19 is noted.

While guests mention the owners' friendliness and helpfulness, there are no specific references to gifts or special thoughtful touches that could be guaranteed for future guests. Therefore, a score cannot be provided for this category.

Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Kitchen was well stocked with equipment, though oven was tricky as controls had lost labels and struggled to get it very hot. Terrace was lovely to sit at and the glass edge helped keep us out of the wind. Stunning views!

The property was reasonably clean but had cobwebs and the glazed door from the living room was dirty. The most annoying was the hot water ,and trying to get a shower of a reasonable temperature .There must be something wrong with the boiler ,as this problem cannot just be us .I left a phone message on the first morning I am still waiting for an answer.

Shower was a bit temperamental, one minute scolding hot and then 5 minutes later nothing but tepid heat. Internet connection dropped out quite a few times and wasn't sufficiently stable for using Amazon Prime TV. For basic internet on our phones/laptops it was fine once connected. We were pleased with the range of kitchen items, especially pots & pans. We cooked most evenings for 5 people and found the kitchen area & facilities were excellent. We were happy with our accommodation and thought it was excellent value for money compared with previous accommodation we have hired in North Wales & Anglesey (this was our fourth holiday cottage in the area in the ten years). I would recommend to others for these reasons: 1 - location is perfect for travel into Anglesey, quickly into Snowdon area, also beaches & castles of North Wales. Everything in less than an hour's drive. Fantastic range of supermarkets in Bangor within 10-minute drive, plus Drive through fast food when you don't want to cook. 2 - layout of house was great, and ideal for small family + grandparents. Nice kitchen/diner area. 3 - peace & quiet, and safe play area for kids in front of the house. 4 - pub & food within 5-minute walk (albeit steep uphill walk home!) 5 - represents fair value for money Shower was a bit temperamental, one minute too hot and then 5 minutes later nothing but tepid heat. Internet connection dropped out a few times. For basic internet on our phones & laptops it was fine once connected.
