An excellent cottage. All equipment almost new and of good quality. Comfortable and warm. Logs for the log burner were provided although we did not light the fire. Large bedrooms - the king sized with ensuite wet room with sink and toilet. The twin was next to the good sized family bathroom with traditional bath with shower over, sink and toilet. Very large living, dining kitchen with french doors to the terrace, with table and chairs, over looking the orchard and catching the late afternoon sun. The location of the cottage on the edge of the large village of Gilwern, with two convenience shops, one attached to the fuel station and other individual shops was a good base for visits to the local castles, The Big Pit and Ironworks at Blaenavon, the market towns of Abergavenny and Brecon and a walk along the canal. If in the area we would book the cottage again.

The cottage is in a lovely secluded setting and finished to a high standard. There was plenty of space to relax and an enormous ensuite wet room as well as another bathroom. We found it easy to get to places for walking. The Big Pit is not far and Raglan Castle which were both well worth visiting.
