The castle was built in the 12th century and to this day towers over the town. It has had an eventful past and is worth visiting when staying in Haverfordwest. If you are there on a Friday, the farmer's market is also a great place to explore with offerings from fresh seafood to artisanal cheeses. It is just the place to pick up some mouth-watering ingredients to cook up a storm back at your holiday cottage. If you tire of cooking there are plenty of options for eating out and when you want to explore further afield the coast isn't far away.
