About this property

Set on the outskirts of Dyffryn Ardudwy, a countryside village in Gwynedd on a working farm, is this stone-fronted, single-storey cottage, Caerffynon Bach. Nestled away from the hustle and bustle, Caerffynon Bach is the perfect escape for a couple looking for a romantic break among the Welsh hills; the cottage sleeps two guests and is an adult-only property. Travelling down the country lane, beyond the neighbouring sheep, make use of the private driveway, whilst taking in the breath-taking views and stillness that surrounds your new abode. Entering the open-plan living space, be wowed by the traditionally renovated interior, with exposed stone walls, vaulted ceilings, and preserved beams; prepare a home-cooked meal in the well-equipped kitchen, warm up in front of the gas effect log burner, or simply enjoy each other’s company over your favourite film. To the front of the cottage, you will arrive at an enclosed garden, fully remote and enveloped by rolling hills, stone walls, original pigsties and the tranquillity of the countryside; enjoy alfresco dining, a morning coffee, or a late-night tipple with your loved one in this secluded setting. As sleep calls, venture to the king-size bedroom, continuing through the homely interior, with vaulted ceilings, Velux windows and wooden furniture; relax in bed with the TV on as a backdrop. The cottage is completed with a contemporary walk-in shower room, finished with sleek fixtures and a light-up mirror, perfect for getting ready before a day of exploration. Caerffynon Bach is encircled by a range of walking trails, including the renowned Rhingos route up Yr Wyddfa (Snowdonia) Mountain, whilst there are an array of seaside villages and towns to also visit, just a short car journey away. For relaxing days at the beach, travel to Morfa Bychan, enjoy the uninterrupted stretch of Harlech Beach, or opt for a stroll down Barmouth Pier. For a taste of history, tour Criccieth Castle, take in the grandeur of Harlech Castle, or enjoy an adventure to Portmeirion Lighthouse. Llanfair Slate Caverns, Portmeirion Village, Nantcol Waterfalls and New Precipice Walk are all on your doorstep, popular hidden gems to enjoy as a couple. Retreat to the countryside for a romantic getaway by choosing Caerffynon Bach as your Gwynedd abode.

The lovely community of Dyffryn Ardudwy is peacefully nestled between the Rhinogs, a section of the Yr Wyddfa (Snowdonia) Mountains, and the gorgeous golden beaches of North Wales. Because of its unique location, this quaint community enjoys its own moderate climate and has excellent local stores and taverns. A wide variety of fauna and birds, including flying buzzards, can be found in the surrounding area. Harlech, a little village about 4 miles away, is dominated by its grand 13th century castle, a unesco World Heritage Site and the most impressive of Edward I's strongholds in North Wales. Harlech is well-known among golfers for its famous Royal St. David's course, but it also offers a wide range of services, including some outstanding restaurants.

It really is a home-from-home holiday experience. The welcome of fresh flowers, cakes & milk in the fridge were a lovely thought & the a personal visit by the owner’s Mum to welcome us was such a lovely gesture too. The cottage is absolutely stunning & is the perfect place to relax & enjoy a quiet holiday away. If you like sheep this is the perfect place for you! There is nothing better than listening to them baa’ing at night & they are so friendly & inquisitive. All your needs are catered for, the kitchen is as well equipped as your own kitchen, the owners have thought of everything. Books & puzzles are there for the rainy days & the views & landscape are to be enjoyed on the outside patio seating area. Good location for exploring - we bought fish & chips back from Barmouth for tea one night & they stayed nice & hot after the journey home! We will definitely be re-booking in the future.

It is so comfortable. It is very relaxing with the animals. It is like home from home. we love it. It is ideal for walking, we park up when we arrive and don't use the car until we leave for home.

It has a very comfortable feel about it. Nice and cosy, and the weather wasn't as bad as the forecasters would have you believe. Looking forward to coming again next year.
