What our customers say about their holidays

We stayed at the cottage just after New Year with our group of 6 friends.

We had a fabulous time in the cottage and local area. The cottage is cosy, warm (that log burner is a treat!) and is just a delight to stay in. Given the rather low temperatures outside, it was great to have efficient heating and showering facilities- as well as equipment to manage the post beach/forest dog walk/swimming clothing! A well equipped kitchen made the post NY celebration dinners for our group a breeze to cater for. And those sofas are great to smuggle into with a book or two! Comfy beds too- especially important for our over 50’s party who needed such support! There is plenty of parking for two vehicles at the cottage itself and in our case, visitors were able to easily park nearby. There is a lovely garden which would provide great outdoor dining space, which we hope to take advantage of later in the year. Also, it is so easy to access a range of stunning local beaches such as Barafundle and there are so many small villages and towns with fabulous cafes and restaurants, a diverse range of independent shops, etc. The local area is truly a treat and if you are bringing dogs…so many great walks are on offer. This area is SO dog friendly which made the break enjoyable for the three pooches accompanying us on this trip, Overall…really impressed and will book again

Firstly, finding the cottage was quite difficult but this was resolved by two phone calls to the owner.

It would be extremely helpful if a sign were set up at the entrance to the property. On arrival, we were met with a pile of household rubbish next to the gate, presumably from previous guests. There was also a bag containing dog poo on the grassed area at the front of the house. We did not have a dog with us. The property itself is functional rather than homely but was clean and well equipped. It would have been helpful if the toilet had been left with a toilet roll for the first day. In the listing and instructions provided by Sykes & the owner, much is made of dealing with leftover food, with requests to remove any prior to leaving. On our arrival, there was food left in the freezer and one of the cupboards. When we left, we removed all of our food but left behind that of previous guests. Some clarification of dealing with domestic rubbish would also be helpful. Overall, our stay was manageable but I would not recommend this property if you are looking for a traditional country experience.

We arrived in pouring rain opened the key safe Ok, there were four keys which we had great trouble opening the rear door as keys had to be applied in a sequence. We could not get a phone signal but was able to make a call to your office from the local pub, Stackpole Inn. We received mixed messages some said the keys were in the silver safe box ? However a young guy arrived to open the door. He also showed us where to park which again was hidden from view from the property. The enclosed garden was behind a 6ft fence between various properties, you entered via a bolted door with no indication this was part of Chestnut cottage. The garden was not laid to lawn (rough grass) and there was no BBQ as stated on your website. The property was not securely gated at the rear entrance and dogs and young children could wander onto the road. We believe the cottage was overpriced for what it had to offer. The owner did buy us a drink via the Stackpole Inn due to the key entry problem.

The bungalow is clean and comfortable with a lovely enclosed garden allowing the children to play safely and for the family to eat outdoors.

Good Wi Fi - bring your Fire Stick to access your favourite TV channels. As the village shop is now closed the nearest Supermarket is in Pembroke but the proprietor had kindly left some food in the Freezer which was welcome as we arrived late on. Angle is a lovely quiet village with an excellent beach only a five minute stroll away, with a great Cafe. The local pub is only a stroll away too and everyone was warm and friendly, despite all the Covid restrictions in place. There is plenty to do in the locality from Tenby, a traditional Seaside Town, to boat rides, Wildlife and Theme Parks, Crazy Golf, lovely coastal walks and more. If you visit this part of the world and you have a sense of adventure, you must go Coasteering in Tenby! It's challenging alright, but to swim through the beautiful sea caves, taste edible seaweed, climb and jump from high rocks and learn about the coast from an expert guide was amazing. Enjoy!

I never saw anywhere it mentioning it was semi detached.

Saying that it was quiet. We only saw a couple of heads over the fence. The property is in the process of being updated but is perfectly livable. It was exceptionally clean. There was plenty of room for the two of us and comfortable. For active people there are various walks. Five minutes walk is the beach sandy with some shelter if it is windy. A good place to sit and watch the ships going in and out of Pembroke Dock. Better still is the cafe with good food and especially the cakes. Staff are very chatty. Five minutes inland is the pub The Hibernia Inn. Good food , the bar was boisterous on the Saturday we were there. Had reasonable weather and plenty of places to visit.
