  Nestled in a tranquil, picturesque setting, this hidden gem offers the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The combination of luxury and nature here is simply unbeatable. The facilities at Southdown Luxury Glamping are second to none. The accommodations was spacious, immaculately clean, and thoughtfully designed to provide maximum comfort. With plush bedding, a cozy wood-burning stove, and a well-equipped kitchenette, it felt like a home away from home—but with a far better view! The attention to detail was evident in every corner, from the tasteful décor to the top-notch amenities that made our stay feel truly luxurious. The private hot tub was an absolute highlight, allowing us to unwind under the stars in complete privacy. The surrounding environment added to the magic. We were completely enveloped by the serene countryside, where the only sounds were the gentle rustling of leaves and the melodic calls of local wildlife. It was impossible not to feel a sense of peace and relaxation, especially when enjoying a morning coffee on the deck. The location is fantastic, offering the best of both worlds—secluded and peaceful yet within easy reach of charming villages and beautiful walking trails. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the local area, but we also loved returning to our little haven at Southdown, where we felt utterly relaxed and rejuvenated. Overall, Southdown Luxury Glamping exceeded all expectations. It’s the perfect choice for anyone looking to disconnect, recharge, and enjoy the tranquillity of nature without compromising on comfort.   We absolutely cannot fault our stay here, it was perfect from the start.

  We visited for 4 days and 3 nights to celebrate our anniversary. The huts have everything you may need and are super clean, essentials such as milk, sugar and coffee are also provided. The pictures really don't do them justice, they are even better in person. The hot tub was much needed as we went on many walks around the area which is beautiful. It was very clean and temperature was perfect. There are lots of shops and restuarants close by too in case you need to pop out for anything. We visited Yorkshire Wildlife Park and Lincoln after recommendations from the hosts which were both around 30 mins drive away from the property and were both fabulous days out. The hosts were amazing, they helped with any questions we had and were chatty and friendly when we saw them around. We particularly enjoyed hearing and watching the sheep when it was feeding time! We had a very peaceful and relaxing time here which was much needed (even with the wind which was rather fierce on our last few days!) and we would recommend to anyone. It was the best celebration and we hope to come back in the future. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!

  Booked this weekend for the other half's birthday, chance to get out into the countryside.

  Beautiful secluded location in a small village, the area is shared with two other identical huts. Herdwick is the hut in-between the two, we didn't feel overlooked although you can hear others in the other huts. Slightly difficult to find owners were lovely and came out to the road to help us locate it. Once in, the area has been purpose built for mini stays. Lovely outdoor fire pit area which if you were more than one couple would be a good place to spend the evening. The hut is exactly as per the pictures, really adorable space to spend the weekend. No TV but a good radio and excellent wifi for anything you may need electronics for. The view from the hot tub was perfect, like a window into the countryside. We ordered a takeaway from Retford and spent the second day in Lincoln at the cathedral and the castle. We also cooked at the hut and on the outdoor stove. A car is definitely needed to get yourself around the area. Lovely picturesque escape, with the church bells ringing on the hour and half hour, with sheep as your neighbours.

  Amazing Peaceful Easter Weekend!

  Thank you so much to Michelle and Geoff - I went alone to Buttercup Lodge to 'get off the world' for 4 nights. Honestly, I felt such a sense of peace and was so stress-free, from the first hour I arrived... its just a very quiet, beautiful place.. bunnies and baby bunnies running around every morning on the grass in front of the lodge - very seasonal for Easter! The hot tub was great for 2 afternoons but when the hurricane winds and rain moved in - the log burner inside was even better! All the logs and kindling I needed, and a Prosecco and Lindt truffles left for me to enjoy! Oh and the Easter bunny left me a creme egg too! Everything is EXACTLY as described - ladies, there is a hairdryer if you're wondering and more than enough towels! I will definitely return - its an hour from me but so far removed from city-centre living it could be a different country. I feel lucky to have found it, lodge 3 is being built and the train carriage conversion will be just fab! HUGE thank you to Michelle for being the perfect hostess... I loved it!

  We were amazed!

  I wanted to surprise my wife for our 10 year wedding anniversary and yes we both were surprised. The setting was beautiful! The accommodation was fantastic! The owners were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. It has lots of supermarkets, a petrol station and pub/restaurant around the area. It is about an hour away from a beach. Where we had a fantastic day out. If we didn't go out we could have a relaxing time in the hottub, play some games (that were provided). Then in the evening light the fire, have a BBQ and relax. We have already recommended to our friends and family and will definitely be booking again. Overall a relaxing, fun and romantic holiday! Thanks for having us. Bonus there was a massive swing for an adult to swing on haha!
