  Our booked six night stay consisted of one night before we gave the keys back and found somewhere else to stay.

  In 25 years of renting holiday cottages, this was by far the worst. Spartan, poorly equipped, no room whatsoever, no storage space and what we believed to be us having the run of a large garden (as the photos depicted) for our two spaniels, we had a 12 x 12ft patch of grass. The tv is at a 45 degree angle to the settee, so you had to crane your neck to watch it. No net curtains so no privacy. A kitchen without a cooker, draining board or washing machine, the latter essential for a cottage that's supposedly dog friendly. As for the front door..... We were told NOT to turn the car around using the property opposite's drive which necessitated reversing down the narrow lane to get out, no mention of this when we booked. Presumably the cottage owners and the neighbour don't get on? The directions to the place weren't even accurate. If this place WAS converted from a barn, I can only assume that the barn was more comfortable. When we departed on the Sunday morning, the owners weren't in, so I texted them to say we'd left the place and to let them know where we'd left the key. Several hours later they replied to say, "oh dear, thanks for letting us know, we hope you find something more suited to your needs". No apology, no " what could we have done to make your stay better?", essentially, " thanks for your £400, 'bye". I just can't believe the glowing reviews for this place, people must have very low expectations. We will NEVER book through you again, a complete and utter disappointment.   Tower End has a real wow factor on entrance that doesn’t stop as you take in all the areas within.

  The private beautifully dressed outdoor patio area is stunning. We enjoyed the spacious yet cosines of the cottage as a couple with our big fluffy lurcher, Fozzie. We had enough space for his dog bed and found the entrance area so helpful for his towel rub down and paw cleans. The driveway is secure for allowing dogs to wander (if they don’t jump gates) and we parked our car in the ample space at the front of the cottage. The shower room and bathroom are luxury: super soft towels, toiletries and no need forgotten are a highlight of how much the owners want your stay to be pleasurable. They have equipped the kitchen with ample utensils for cooking and a choice of coffee machine/cafetière was a bonus. The bedroom has a hanging rail in the bathroom with ample drawers and cupboards for clothes. Sumptuously dressed bed with mattress topper and lovely choice of lighting; lamps and natural light. We would not hesitate to recommend or return to Tower End. It’s a true gem and located well for much exploration. Local hospitality is superb. We felt very welcome and found the community so friendly.

  Jasmine cottage is located in an ideal spot to access both inland and coastal sights easily.

  Beautiful scenery and magnificent beaches to explore with your four legged friend. The cottage is warm, bright, clean and very comfortable. The kitchen space is small but well equipped. Everything you need after your day out to make dinner and relax for the evening. And if you can't find anything, a quick message or call to Mary and a few minutes later she was at the door to help. The garden is a quiet, calm oasis to wander in or to sit and listen to the birdsong in the early morning as your dog investigates the river, bushes, trees and lifts his nose to catch the scents floating in on the breeze. Richard and Mary have a vast wealth of local knowledge and were always ready to offer recommendations and loan a map. Nothing was too much trouble, they were helpful and very welcoming to all visitors, whether furry or not so furry!

  Nice clean well equipped cottage in a good location to visit surrounding area - Lyme Regis, Clarkes Village and Weymouth all about 40 - 60 minutes.

  If using A303 stay on for Crewkerne and the A356 - there is a Waitrose and Lidl next to each other handy for supplies - turn left at the large yellow cross hatched road markings - stay on A356 to the cottage - after a declining left hand turn the cottage is on the left a very narrow entrance in-between a large tree and Bakers Arms where the owners live. The court yard is gravelled and a car park space for each cottage. NOTE that there is no mobile phone signal - Wi-Fi only - my phone worked okay, but my wife's didn't - would have liked a roller blind on the glass front door and in the bathroom. The power to work the shower is a ceiling pull cord next to it. No eating establishment within walking distance. Would recommend for a couple with it's good location for visiting surrounding area - just keep to the A roads!

  Little Orchard Barn was a vey lucky find and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

  It is one of the two best cottages we have stayed in. We received a very warm welcome along with some tasty treats. The cottage is comfortable, very well equipped and thoughtful touches make it feel very homely. Please don’t be put off by previous negative comments regarding narrow lane to access the property. It is a very short distance which we managed very well in our Honda CRV, which is not a small car and with due care we were able to drive in, turn round and drive out again with confidence. There is a lot to do in the surrounding area and the shops are close by. Do come and stay at Little Orchard Barn you won’t be disappointed. Many thanks to the owners
