  The whole experience was both very good and very poor. The cottage was clean and well equiped. The parking space was useful. We had some issue with the bath which although was sorted caused disruption to our holiday. There was a great deal of noise from an adjacent property at one time which went on past midnight, loud voices and banging. The garden was not welcoming, there was what appeared to be a huge compost heap just inside the gate, It was am untifdy, unkwmpt area which had weeds and mess. See photo. We noticed other reviews were less than positive about the outside space as well. Not a place we felt we wanted to sit.. There were one or two issues with neighbours who we felt were keeping an eye on us. We raised a problem with ants in the kitchen with the owners which was ignored. It would have been very nice to have received a more positive customer experience, sadly it has ensured we wont be returning to this property although we would holiday in Kirkcudbright again.

  We stayed in the Byre for a week. Everything about it was amazing. Even bigger and better than the pictures online. We were blessed with beautiful sunshine all week which only enhanced the picturesque setting. Sarah and Andy are fantastic hosts and made us feel very welcome. We (including our dog) loved the walks on the nearest beaches (Mossyard and Dhoon) especially when the tide was out. Our visit to the local Red Kite Centre was fantastic where hundreds of Red Kites are fed daily at 2pm. All within 20-30mins drive from Grobdale. Highly recommend and can't wait to return. Tina, Andy and Maddie (the dog).

  The cottage is spacious, well equipped ( to a high standard) and very clean. We liked the multiple bathrooms -- ensuite and downstairs -- and the private off street parking space -- just made life easier. Its a great central location ,on a very attractive street. We didn`t have the weather to get out in the garden (right at at the end of the close) but I think more information on what equipment is available and where it is would be useful. It was our second holiday in Kirkudbright and the town continues to hold its charm ,for itself and as a base to explore beautiful Galloway..

  We really enjoyed our stay in Kirkcudbright and the cottage was well placed within the town. The cottage was well equipped and very quiet & comfortable. There were a few things that we recommended for future guests on the suggestion list ie provision of waste basket in bedrooms, fans in both bathrooms did not work, coffee a nice gesture but rock solid, oven needed a good clean, but on the whole a very comfortable visit and we would certainly return

  Tricky to holiday with teens but this worked well for us - we were happpy to allow our children a little independence to walk to ice cream van or local shops for treats. Our Thai takeaway was a massive hit & everyone enjoyed selecting a new book from local shop - walk to planetarium for solar system evening was a big success for all. Enough bathrooms for our family of 5 & we played lots of games at the table each evening - really good holiday!
