  The property is modern as it forms part of the conversion from the old Narracott Grand Hotel into appartments. It is well appointed with two good bathrooms and two large bedrooms. It is in an excellent position, being close to restaurants, shops, beach etc. Guests need to be on their guard as there is astep down from the lounge area to the kitchen area which caught my wife out several times over the first two days causing her to fall. We resolved it by placing a chair on the step to act as an obstacle and a reminder. Also beware that the wooden bedframes are wider than the mattress and are painful on the shins if you are not very careful. We were a bit dissapointed that the outlook from the lounge was not a lovelly sea view, but a rather unattractive red brick building. The sea view is available, but only really from the very narrow balcony. We had a few operational issues when we first arrived relating to the operation of the central heating and the TV. It was very irritating that the owner was only prepared to communicate by text message. One simple phone call could have resolved our issues but I eventually gave up with the text messages and after two days found a way around the issues myself.

  Property was not ready when we arrived at 16:30 - dirty bed linen and towels on floor, unmade beds and not cleaned. Phoned housekeeper who had no knowledge of our booking and advised neither had owner who had only left at 15:00 - she was very apologetic and said she would get cleaners to come asap. Phoned Mardsens who kept me on hold for about 5 mins then told me they had no idea what had happened. I explained what the housekeeper had said but nothing other than ‘I’m sorry’. I asked for an email explaining what had happened to be sent in a few days but still haven’t heard anything. Cleaning team were great and came about 18:30 to collect dirty laundry and made beds and said would come back to do clean following day at midday which they did. They were very apologetic and lovely people. Also the designated car space had a car in it so had to knock on all apartments to get it moved - owner of car was another residents daughter who said ‘they always park there’. Overall a very poor start to our holiday. Still waiting for email from Marsdens to explain what had happened - what if we’d arrived later at night?

  Perfectly situated for bars, shops and cafes. A short walk from all the gorgeous beaches so no need for parking fees. A warm, cosy and modern apartment VERY well equipped. Loved the welcome pack of teas, coffees and fresh milk, in the fridge, after a long journey. 5 minute drive from the beautiful coastal walks around Mortehoe village, if you can't face the climb up on foot, and reasonable parking charges at the village car park. Would highly recommend a stay in this property.

  Another wonderful weekend at this apartment in Woolacombe. As always, beautifully presented, every little detail thought of when staying away from home. Although we ate out a couple of times we mainly did self-catering and every facility you need in a kitchen is available to cook meals. The views are absolutely fabulous and the apartment is so conveniently located for the beach and all the facilities of Woolacombe. Definitely recommend and will be back!
