What our customers say about their holidays
Louise - Verified booking
The property location was excellent close to everything and literally 1 minute to cross over the road and we were on the beach and in the sea.
The beds were comfortable and the property was equipped with everything we needed. The property is quite compact in the main living area (smaller than I normally book) but it worked and was done to a high standard with slightly smaller furniture in the living area so everything fits. We used the washer/dryer a couple of times which was really handy, especially when beach towels etc need a refresh towards the end of the holiday. The fridge was a little small and we struggled to fit everything in it at the start of the holiday just after our food shop and some foods were touching the back of the fridge and freezing. We noticed a few cup rings on the side tables which were probably outside the owners control, but it is a shame as the furniture is nice quality and the owner provides plently of mats and coasters which me and my children used all the time to protect surfaces. The bathroom was small but nicely done but the small unit in there was starting to rust a little, this didnt at all detract but may need replacing in the future. Although street parking is very busy around the area the parking pass was a real deal breaker and I did manage to find parking reasonably easily everytime we went out and came back. I did book some back up parking just in case as Im aware of times when all parking is taken, but I didnt need to use it. The welcome pack was a wonderful surprise and very much appreciated - thankyou. The only thing that possibly could be improved at the property is the blinds. It has beautiful white slat wooden blinds, clearly very extensive, however these are really heavy to pull up when it's hot and you want to open the windows, it also looks like previous guests have tangled up or shortened some of the cords so they are very high to reach. Also they don't provide blackout and as soon as dawn arrives (5pm onwards) the light streams in through the slats and sides, so my children in the double room at the front were awake too early and towards the end of the holiday we had to swap rooms and put them in the double at the back which was a little more shaded. The downside of such a central location was that there was quite a lot of noise on some evenings from revellers on the sea front but also from the pub at the back, but because we'd had such busy full days we managed to shut it out and slept OK and it's to be expected in such a prime location. All In all it's a good holiday home done to a high standard and the location absolutely makes it. Thanks for a nice stay.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.
Pillows and mattress in main bedroom were unacceptable - raised immediately and then daily during the holiday but Skyes couldn't have been less interested. We ended up exhausted and with muscle pain (neck and back) due to lack of sleep and despite numerous phone calls and emails they refused to swap the pillows even though I sent pictures which clearly showed the poor quality. The mattress has huge dips in each side and then lumps in the middle and by the head - again I sent pictures which clearly showed the huge dips but they didn't care. Broken blind on arrival in main bedroom. Patio door in lounge didn't open and we stayed during a heatwave (I see in the guest book that this was also raised back in March). Property was dirty and dusty. Leaflets etc in the drawer was at least 2 years out of date. No instructions for the oven etc. We paid £2000 for the week. I would advise you spend your money elsewhere. Our holiday was totally ruined and wouldn't wish anyone else to experience what we had to as the owners evidently don't care judging by the blunt responses we received from them via Skyes. Have asked for some compensation for our ruined stay but again they aren't interested and have refused. Customer service was awful. There's actually no one to contact in Lyme Regis / Lyme Bay Holidays - everything goes through to Skyes in Chester. Email responses were quite rude at times. Will never book through them again. It would be helpful if they allowed me to upload pictures to go along with this review so you could see the dreadful quality of the lumpy, ripped pillows, mattress, broken blind and lack of cleanliness.

We have stayed in this block many times but this is our first visit to this property.
There were some things that werenât as good as shown in the details and need sorting. The sofa was marked, the single chair very uncomfortable, the dining table squashed up against the wall with not much room because of the rather large plastic fern plant. The kitchen facilities were dated, limited and looking a tad tired. The freezer was unclean, the large unit in the living room which was taking up lots of space was basically housing some rather out of date literatureâ¦.no information on the heating system, which meant we had to call Sykesâ¦.no joy, but luckily we bumped into two cleaners who reported it. We also reported that one set of French doors had no keysâ¦.we got absolutely no response to that. The books and games againâ¦..pretty old. It felt as if no one was bothered! For the price we paid, it wasnât quite good enough. The place needs a little love and something added touches to make them feel welcome and informed Finally the cleaning issue. It seems that more and more companies are relying on the visitor to clean the property. Whilst I appreciate we should leave things tidy, my worry is that the property never really gets a good clean. That really isnât for the visitor to do and was apparent in the flat in areas. Not impressed again with Sykesâ¦.it was far better when Lyme Bay holidays. What use is calling a number that isnt remotely where you are staying only for them to not sort an issue. I received an email today from Sykes asking if the heating issue was sorted? A little late perhaps as we left the day before. This place has such potential

Great location, it was busy & at times noisy with the bus stops right outside but the fabulous view & convenient location for the beach made up for that & it was fine overall.
The flat is beautifully furnished but could now do with a thorough deep clean, especially the bathroom. I had to clean the shower & shower tray myself on arrival, it had thick black mould all around it which wasnât very pleasant & chrome towel rail simply too dirty to use. There is small sections of damp showing on several walls which I understand is to be expected for the age of the property but a shame as the flat is so nicely modernised & decorated. The utility room is also dirty. The welcome hamper was a nice touch thank you & the sofa & beds comfortable. The kitchen is lovely & modern & very well equipped. We had an issue with the kitchen tap but Sykes fixed it the next day thank you. There was also no clothes airer, it was missing from the utility & with children & their wet beach clothes it was an essential for us, but Sykes sorted this the next day, thank you. Overall great location, very handy & stunning views. Just needs a thorough clean, especially the bathroom.

A nice modern ground floor apartment.
Great location with parking right outside the apartment and feels very secure behind the electric gates. Not sure why its only listed to sleep 4 considering that there is also a pull out double sofa bed in the living room. The fridge doesn't seem to get as cold as I'd expect. Over the week, we threw away 3 bottles of milk that had turned to cheese before the best before date. The electric hob needs a sign on the wall or on the side of the microwave advising that the isolation switch is actually hidden behind microwave. We were about to call the maintenance number when we finally discovered why the hob wouldn't turn on. An extra key for the rear garden gate would have also been helpful as our party of 4 didn't all come and go at the same time. We would definitely come back again but as with many of the other holiday rentals in Lyme Regis, the prices are often quite ridiculous over the school holidays weeks.
