  This is a honest review of our stay, listing all the good points and negatives.

  Good House is generally clean and tidy Settee is a corner sofa with 2 electric recliners, very comfy. Kitchen is clean and tidy and modern Bedrooms are clean if a little dated in places, (sockets very old, cables not routed just curled up in corners etc) The beds are comfy, although they do squeak a little. Fee Netflix is provided and the TV is excellent. Bathroom is clean and the shower is very nice. The downstairs windows were locked, we messaged Paul and someone came round to unlock them and let some fresh air in as it was very hot inside the house. Heating is controlled by a hive thermostat in the hallway, we turned this down as the house was very warm. The 1980s gaming machine was a nice touch. A nice basket of chocolates and biscuits was waiting for us on arrival. Not so good There is an odour when you first enter the house, its not entirely unpleasant and there has been an attempt to mask the smell with an air freshener. There were no dish cloths or tea towels for doing the dishes and cleaning the counters down The curtains in the main bedroom did nothing to stop the morning light coming through at 5am. The pool table was badly levelled, we asked Paul to come and sort this, he said he would, but unfortunately, it never happened, quite disappointing, when that was a main attraction for our boys. There was only one useable pool cue, the others were either tiny or broken. The hot tub had an error message stating the filter was 23 days overdue a change. Other useful info Parking is tight and there is a birds nest in the gutter directly above, hence car was covered in bird droppings. The front door cannot be opened from the outside without a key even if it is unlocked, so don't leave the keys inside the house and let the door shut. The knife and fork drawer is hidden inside the top drawer near the oven. If these small nuances were addressed, we would gladly stay again, the house is located in a generally nice area, close to shops and buses and trams.

  September family holiday, we stayed at Netherbeck Barn for 1 week.

  What an amazing property, beautifully decorated throughout. Fantastic attention to detail, safety and comforts fHostor those staying at the property. Welcome packs for the dogs was a lovely thought, also welcome packs for guests and freshly cut flowers as you walk into the dining room were beautiful. Hosts are close by for anything needed, very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The games room is amazing, it opens out onto an enclosed garden both were such a bonus especially after sightseeing. The owners have carefully thought about and considered all age groups for entertainment & enjoyment. The pool table can be changed into table tennis and air hockey, we had so much fun every day, it is a great room to either be together after a day out or for time out for those wanting to relax in the beautiful living room. Netherbeck Barn is a great base for sightseeing locally, visiting the South Lakes and seaside, there is so much to see and do. We will definitely go back, and highly recommend to our family & friends. Thank you to the owners for a lovely holiday in your beautiful home.

  Absolutely loved our stay at this property.

  The barn conversion has been renovated to a very high standard and is situated perfectly just on the outskirts of town. A nice 5/10 minute stroll will take you into Carnforth and you can also walk into town via the Lancaster canal. A lovely welcome pack awaited us which was very much appreciated and the barn was spotlessly clean. The owners Julie and Colin are just the most friendliest and gregarious people you'll meet, but never intrusive. The property is very spacious and kitchen is very well equipped. The beds are amazingly comfortable. The basement makes up a super games room, with pool table, TV, board games etc. Location wise, Netherbeck Barn is excellent with walks from the doorstep or a car ride away is Arnside and Silverdale(AONB) or the Lake District both with outstanding walks. All in all we had a lovely relaxing week away and without doubt, Netherbeck is one of the best Sykes property's I have ever stayed in. We will definitely return . Thanks Kobe and Jac..

  When we arrived at the property to say we were pleasantly overwhelmed.

  We spent a while exploring our home for the week and it just got better and better. The property is very well maintained and was impeccably clean. The welcome gifts provided were very much appreciated especially as we forgot the milk! Even treats for the dogs which were eagerly devoured. We did message the owners a couple of times and had very quick replies even though they were probably busy nothing was too much trouble. Ideally located for shops and plenty to do and see for the kids. We tried to book for next year but nothing available sadly. We are not surprised as it is fantastic all round. The games room was an added bonus for rainy days. Many games of pool were played and board games as well as jigsaws galore. We were really sad to leave such a beautiful house and location and would be back in a heartbeat given the chance. Credit to the owners for going the extra mile with everything and making it a truly fabulous week!

  First time staying Here.

  We are a family of 6, 2 adults 4 children.and 2 dogs, We loved staying here so spacious clean and their is lots to entertain the children and thos was an added bonus 4 in 1 games table. a arcade machine that is free to play. Out side full sized pool table plenty of books and games. And also the hot tub we used everything and everything is on your door step, beach shops, arcade and plenty of restaurant's pubs ect. We enjoyed it that much we ask the lovley freindley Paul if we could add another night short notice,but nothing was two much and he made it happen. The beds are comfy and plenty of towels and everything you need to cook for a big family was available to hand. The back garden is secure so no worries of the dogs escaping and all artifical grass which is great no muddy paws. And the conservatory was very cosy for are morning coffee. We very much look forward to coming back.
