  The house is ideally situated for a holiday by the sea with a beautiful sandy, accessible beach a mile away and country walks from the doorstep.

  A few minutes walk away is a well stocked village post office providing all the essential items for a short holiday. Good characterful, gastro pubs are close by; quick access to main roads enable day trips to nearby towns and attractions. The house and its facilities are high quality. However, there is one significant complaint which I am sure can be easily rectified and will not detract from the property. The bottom step of the stairs is not carpeted and the oak finish to the step blends with the oak colour of the flooring making it easy to mis judge when coming downstairs. Within the first 24 hours, my 30 year old daughter and, more seriously, my 70 year old husband both fell badly down the bottom step. My husband fell flat on the floor. Amazingly, in spite of having two replacement hips and a replacement hip, he only suffered shock and severe bruising to his hips. I feared that it could have been much worse. My daughter bruised and grazed her hip. Neither individual had seen the bottom step. We bought a bathroom slip mat to secure to the bottom step to make it more visible and to avoid further falls. It needs to be rectified before a more serious accident occurs, which I assume Sykes will ensure happens. My complaint shouldn't make anyone doubt the overall excellent quality of the property and its location.

  This is a characterful cottage in an ideal location for exploring the northern beaches of Cornwall, close to Newquay and Padstow, located in a lovely village with a great beach only a 5 minute drive away.

  Nearby airport is not an issue. The cottage is well equipped for any holiday, lovely large open fireplace in lounge, good sized kitchen which is part of an extension, great utility room which would be great for coming back to, after a wet day out, nice use of surfboards to decorate the property along with some nice artwork on the walls, great large dining room table, large wet room downstairs with OK shower (though slow to drain) nice garden space at the front of the property. The house is let down by being tired in places - upstairs bathroom is desperately in need of an update eg. Discoloured toilet seat making you feel uncomfortable and clearly there used to be a shower over bath but is now a hand held shower, red sofa in lounge has clearly seen better days, carpets have a grubby feel, the two fridges both look old eg no door trays in kitchen fridge suggesting they were broken, strange use of wooden boxes in fire place, no welcome guide to tell you what to do with recycling waste or where your nearest GP, vet is etc. Overall this was a good place to explore the beauty of Cornwall in a cottage that grows on you over the week despite it being tired in places and in need of an update.   1. Whilst there was a dishwasher it’s purpose was largely redundant given the limited amount of crockery and cutlery.

  For example, there were only two tea mugs. We would have preferred to spend less time washing up but it was not possible to fill the dishwasher. 2. The outside lighting was very poor. We arrived in the dark and could barely see the outside steps. It is a potential accident waiting to happen. 3. It was difficult to locate the property in the dark as there was no sign outside to identify it. 4. It would have been useful if plug adapters had been provided. 5. The information pack in the apartment is out of date. For example, it recommends a restaurant which went out of business two years ago; there was no torch in the drawer. 6. Given that we paid five star prices we expected five star provisions. 7. The bed was very comfortable. 8. The apartment was located in a very quiet area which we enjoyed. 9. Alexa and the smart TVs were good. 10. The fridge freezer was good. 11. Good quality bed linen and towels were provided. Overall, we would recommend staying at the apartment. If the owner makes the suggested improvements it will be even better!

  Just back home to Norfolk after spending a week in Seacroft.

  The holiday home was sparkling clean, super dog friendly, stair gates are helpful for stopping curious dogs go where they do not need to. We enjoyed cooking in the evening and getting cosy with our tired dogs, everything you need in kitchen & very cosy & quiet. Lovely bath, shower & good facilities such as washer drier ect. The games room was great fun & a stones throw from my favourite beach! I booked this winter trip for my 30th birthday to relax & unwind & I did just that! We use our camper van to visit Cornwall in the summer but the winter time I book a holiday cottage of some sort & this has been my favourite! After booking this place, my in laws informed me actually there is a family link to this home from many years ago… small world but how amazing is that!! Owner has obviously put a huge amount of thought into this place, I hope to book again if remains affordable :) Thankyou xxxx

  Crantock is our favourite place to visit after taking our daughter on her first holiday here 10 years ago.

  We visit 2/3 times a year and I think we have found our forever accommodation (should it be available). Absolutely perfect location with the most stunning views and the games room for the kids was the cherry ontop. We could chill out and watch the sunset whilst the kids were entertained. Our dog also enjoyed the use of running around the large garden area, something you struggle to find nowadays. With a 5 minute walk to the beach it was nice not having to move the car either. The beds were nice and comfy and we all had the best night sleep after a busy days. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you could possibly need. This property really is everything you need and we can not wait to book again when the dates become available. Thank you
