  We are frequent visitors to Warkworth and the North East, and all of our family were within walking distance of one another. Our grandchildren loves calling at their cousin’s holiday homes.Victoria cottage provided us all with comfort and living space for grandparents, parents and children. It is our best holiday home yet in terms of provision, decoration and attention to detail. I loved the art work.Our first holiday home in the North East was a touring caravan placed in a field in Alnmouth. Happy days! (37 years ago). So we have kept returning and building family memories evert since. Now we even have a private sand dune on the beach.The people of the North East are a particularly welcoming and warm people. This is very much the case at Warkworth Golf Club where visitors are most welcome. Of course we shall be returning after another memorable week.Thank you for allowing us to stay in Victoria Cottage.

  Just to thank you for a truly magical holiday. Northumberland is a beautiful place for young, old, families ‘everyone’. Victoria Cottage was a fantastic home from home where I felt totally relaxed. We went to Warkworth Castle most nights, along the river for walks and went to Bamburgh, Alnwick Castle and Gardens and Holy Island. The best part was the beautiful unspoilt beaches…. The flowers and welcome pack made it very homely. I’ll definitely recommend to family, friends and work colleagues. I’ve totally fallen in love with Northumberland and if I’m lucky enough I’d love to live here, I came as a child and it’s everything I remember and more. Well done… everything I wanted, needed and more. As Arnie says “I’ll be back!

  Didn’t bring a dog but brought 4 children instead. Really liked Victoria Cottage, the location and the village of Warkworth. Have been coming to Northumberland as a man and boy for over 50 years and never tire of this beautiful corner of the globe. Revisited my favourite beach, Embleton and took a train to Edinburgh to explore the ‘Athens of the North”, it was only an hour on the train from Alnmouth station, just 5 minutes from the cottage. The cottage is splendidly equipped and beautifully warm, loved the bright airy kitchen and roomy bathroom. A real winner. Thanks for the recommendation from our friends. Will need to bring a dog next time I think.

  Our third visit to Victoria Cottage, it is absolutely immaculate and has everything you need! We have been fortunate with the weather and had some lovely beach walks at Low Hauxley, Cresswell, Alnmouth, Amble and Beadnell Bay. Cresswell was perfect for our noisy dog who takes a week to settle anywhere new, the far end of Amble was perfect for her too! The brewery at Amble was a first visit for us, with lovely burgers at the pop-up restaurant. Warkworth House Hotel always provides us with a fantastic hearty meal and welcome. Lovely lemon drizzle cake – we managed to make it last all week this time!

  Blazes – the blue sky and sunshine here is as nice as it is in Australia, but comes without the heat and the blowflies. Stunning countryside, friendly, chatty people everywhere, people here actually say “hello” to each other and wish a “good morning”. How nice after coming from our insular, isolated city of Perth. After 53 years of sunburn I fell that I could definitely come here to live – and at least replace one of the Poms who has fled to Australia! Thankfully I have managed to take an hour of video to show the Aussies just how beautiful your country is. Anyone want to swap?
