  Great house, great location and great communication from the owners.

  The house has plenty of room, is very well equipped and even though there is no specific parking spot it really wasn't an issue to find a space close by and the parking scratch cards are great - much appreciated, as was the welcome pack! The beds, pillows and mattresses are super comfortable and clean. The bedding and towels spotless! My only (hopefully constructive) comment would be that although the bedrooms and living room were very clean, the kitchen and bathroom were not as good. There was black mould in the washer drawer and in the shower cubicle, and a build up of hard water staining on the bathroom taps - all easy to rectify. The fridge needed to be wiped out before we used it and there was dirty fluff stuck to the bottom of the kitchen table benches when we pulled them out to use. None of this spoiled our stay and I would highly recommend this property. It's really close to the main high street and all the shops, you're spoilt for choice which bay to walk to as both are equally as close and it's close to all the road links to travel out of Scarborough. Thanks for making our week in Scarborough so enjoyable!

  We had a lovely stay here!

  The house is clean and beautifully decorated. Lots of thoughtful touches - my boys (6 and 4) were so excited about their room; especially staying in the bunkbeds and the fact there were Roald Dahl and Horrid Henry books, a definite hit! Loved the cute seaside theme and there is a selection of toys too. The bathroom is huge and would be perfect for a relaxing bath with a glass of wine (I sadly never got round to it). The 'grown ups' bedrooms are both beautiful and cosy. There are beach toys available and what made our holiday much easier was the fact that Alison provides beach towels.... saving us a lot of space in our cases and a load of washing - thankyou for this, it's rare for a holiday let but really did make a big difference! Location wise you are in a great position for south bay, north bay and the town so a thumbs up there. We always managed to park on the road (permit provided). Lastly great communication from Alison, she has been so kind and helpful!

  The property had been beautifully renovated to a high standard and was very comfortable and spotlessly clean.

  A lovely touch was having a bottle of prosecco and Halloween biscuits waiting for us on arrival. A couple of things that could have been clearer; We booked the property because it said in the details it was 2 miles from Whitby and it might well be as the crow flies. We were hoping to walk in but by road it was nearer to 3.5 miles and some of the roads had no pavements or street lighting so that was a bit disappointing. The other thing that wasn't an issue but was unclear was the parking. We brought 2 cars and parked one on the road and one at the side of the property. It did say no parking but we thought that was because it was parking for the property. A very polite neighbour asked us to move it but perhaps if something was written inside the property that would have been avoided. We did have a lovely weekend stay and the property is beautiful and well equipped.

  Harriet's Cottage is a stunning cottage.

  It is beautifully furnished with high quality bed linen and towels. We loved it. We really appreciated the Welcome tray filled with goodies. The bath provides a heavenly soak after a busy day. A shower would be a wonderful addition and I believe this is being considered for next year. There is a large selection of DVD's and games should you want them. There is lots to see and do for all ages. There is something for everyone. With a 15 year old who loves history and WW2 Eden camp was a must, Goathland was well worth a visit and there is a lovely garden centre at the end of the road with outdoor seating for a cup of tea and a slice of cake as well as being a walkers paradise. We would like to thank the owners for letting us stay in such a pretty cottage.

  This cottage is beautiful, we have stayed previously and again the interior, cleanliness are of good quality.

  Sadly, this visit was significantly impacted by the development work adjacent (outside the back door) to the property. We were woken early Monday- Friday before 8 am, on most days before 7.30 by the work men arriving, large construction material deliveries and one day by the emptying of their portable toilet being drained. The weather has been amazing and very hot, but again we were not able to leave the windows open due to the noise (loud music) and excess dust that was created by the cutting of stone and brick. We have tended to leave the property during their working hours to avoid the large diggers, excavator and lifting machinery. We would have appreciated some prior notice of the impact of the building work before our stay.
