  We had a very pleasant stay at Magpies.

  The type of dwelling with high ceilings and individual style of furniture ( but very nicely and tasteful arranged), was different than some holiday accommodation we stayed in the past. As matter of fact it felt very homely and we would have been happy staying there for a longer time. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace watching a pair of foxes at the top of the garden below. The kitchen was well appointed and easy to work in. Due to some recent spinal problem of mine I hand to sleep some nights in the second bedroom and can confirm that both beds are very comfortable. Despite the road along the park being always fully parked up, we had no problem all week long finding a parking spot right near the house. We liked that the owners send us a welcome email with an pdf giving us advance information about the place. As we like to travel and explore different places, we tend to seldom return , however this could be one of the exceptions. Thank you for providing us with a very nice holiday home.   Very nice recently refurbished apartment.

  The welcome pack was a lovely touch. It was a shame that the communal entrance to the building was unwelcoming with creaking stairs all the way up and in the apartment. The lower bathroom had no shower curtain so we could not use the handheld shower over the bath without flooding and damaging the bathroom. All 5 adults and 1 child ended up using the upper floor bathroom shower. The lock in this bathroom did not work. The trundle bed was more suitable for children than adults. On bin collection day (Wednesday) we had to put the wheely bins and recycling box onto the pavement by 7 am and then take them back after they were emptied. (Even then the recycling box was not completely emptied - only our stuff which were in bags were taken).

  We found The Lower Deck in December 2021 by chance, after having visiting Bexhill on many previous occasions and are now asking ourselves HOW could we have missed this?

  Situated just 5 mins from the train station, a pebble throw from the beach and the lovely walkways, it was also within a short distance from the many shops and restaurants Bexhill has to offer. A beautiful property which had everything you needed. From the fully equipped kitchen with its top quality appliances, to the cosy and comfortable lounge and bedroom with all the luxuries from home. From the moment we made our enquiry regarding booking Mia, the owner, was extremely prompt with communicating and this was the case when I posted a question regarding the property, her reply was instant, a first forme, wow!! We will definitely be booking The LowerDeck for our next visit to Bexhill, availability permitting. Thank you Mia.

  This was our 4th visit and we loved staying at Lower Deck as always.

  It’s the perfect accommodation and location for a lovely seaside break. It’s is clean, well equipped, warm and spacious. Mia and Ashley always go the extra mile to make sure it’s welcoming and comfortable. We went by train to Eastbourne and by bus to Hastings. And had lovely long walks along the promenades. We love all the independent shops in Bexhill and enjoyed meals at Trattoria Italian on Devonshire Road twice, Friends Italian (corner of Parkside and Sackville) and coffee and sweets at Homely Treatz on Western Road. We were also lucky enough to see Jason Manford at the De La Warr Pavilion. Thank you Mia and Ashley and we are looking forward to our next holiday at Lower Deck!

  We had everything we needed for our short stay at Lower Deck.

  The kitchen was well equipped even including tea towels, oven gloves, coffee machine and much more - all the things you normally expect to have to take with you on a self catering holiday. A picnic basket and blankets had been provided and if the weather had been bad - cards and board games to help pass the time. The flat was ideally located for the Pavillion and prom, restaurants and shops.Parking was relatively easy initially courtesy of the local car park and then using the parking permits provided at 50p each. The small courtyard is a morning sun trap, and the flat staying a perfect temperature on a hot summers day - a relief after a day in the sun!.
