What our customers say about their holidays
Shuri - Verified booking
We were rather disappointed with this cottage.
We always look for remote places which are not over-looked. It wasnât made clear on your listing that it had another barn next to it and that the property opposite looked directly into the barn. We felt that there was no privacy and that we were unable to open the blinds in the living room. We would have thought that there would have been a blind over the window that looks directly into the bathroom? Again the privacy angle for us is important. Whilst the general cleanliness and decor was immaculate, we were shocked to find that when we removed the bedding at the end of our stay (as we always do regardless of whether it is requested), we had been sleeping on heavily stained protectors which is a first for us. Also some of the cutlery was dirty. There were basics missing from the kitchen such as a frying pan, Prosecco/champagne glasses and whisky tumblers, lap trays, small kitchen knives and so on, which are always provided in other properties weâve stayed in. We also had a problem getting Wi-Fi, which was virtually non existent and also meant that the smart TV was useless as it worked on the Wi-Fi. There was satellite free view but no BBC. We wanted to let you know about this and since there were two phone numbers (separated by only 1 digit) in your information pack, we rang both numbers and left messages. One person rang back and said that we had a wrong number and we had no response from the other at all. We didnât know who lived in the house opposite and didnât feel that it was appropriate to knock on doors so we had no Wi-fi for the entire 4 days. Generally we found the property to be very basic. Not what we were expecting and not what we are used to.

A beautiful located annexed property set in a tranquil setting.
The hosts were very welcoming and nothing seemed beyond their willingness to accommodate us if we so needed. This property is joined to the hosts home, however it didn't feel intrusive at all and the hosts were very respectful of our privacy. It is secluded with its own entrance and opening doors on to the patio area, where you can sit in privacy admiring the beautiful garden or listen to the birds. No traffic! The cottage is beautifully decorated, clean and guidelines outlining the Covid-19 are adhered too. We went out everyday visiting local places such as Chard, Bridport ,Lyme Regis ,Crewkerne and Ilminster. We thoroughly enjoyed wandering around these clean towns and visiting the many lovely shops, antique or emporiums. The cottage is well equipped so cooking lovely evening meals was home from home. Wifi good, I had to have a zoom and telephone conference call and there was no issues. We look forward to returning here as soon as we can.

The stay at Flintstones provided us with a relaxing peaceful stay.
We arrived later than planned and the owners who live in front of the cottage meet us with the key just before they went to bed. Just a few factors made the stay less comfortable than weâd have liked. The hot water only warms up in the early morning and early evening so if you want to use the hot water outside this time you have to press the boost button to get the water to warm up! A cold shower is one way to wake up on a lazy morning. The bed is a very soft mattress so be warned if you need support as it made for an uncomfortable stay for us. The garden is lovely which is shared with the owners and your more than welcome to wonder and relax as you feel. Overall this peaceful cottage is a great stay to relax and unwind with great road links to seaside towns nearby.

As per last year, the stay this year was superb.
The owners are there for you if required and nothing is too much trouble. The accommodation is extremely clean ( as per last year) with the covid precautions taken extremely seriously. The Annex is in a wonderful village with superb walks at every corner and some views/ sunsets to die for. Chard and Ilminster are very close by car as is Taunton with plenty of âeat outâ places and also gastro pubs within walking distance. If you choose the Candlelight pub for lunch there is a lovely walk through a woods with a babbling brook for company. All in all a very nice place for a couple to spend their time sitting doing nothing with a drink for company in the lovely garden or, ambling about in the country lanes and pastures.

Lisa and Clive have created the perfect rural retreat in this enchanting cabin. If you are looking for a peaceful location, surrounded by beautiful countryside yet within reach of popular Dorset towns, this is the place for you. The cabin is ideal for a couple. It is tastefully and thoughtfully furnished and equipped with great attention to detail. In fact we brought home many ideas to improve our own home! Absolutely everything has been thought of. We particularly loved gazing at the night sky from the window above the comfortable bed. There is a pretty garden with comfortable furniture to relax in. Lisa and Clive are friendly and helpful yet unobtrusive. We will certainly return and warmly recommend this cosy cabin
