What our customers say about their holidays

The parkdean resort was amazing.
The location, facilities and entertainment were great for a family holiday. We ate on site a couple of time and used the passes to access the pool and clubhouse I. The evening and both adults and children enjoyed it thoroughly. However, the caravan was not uo to the same standard as we expected from such a great site. The interior was dated, there were lots of unnecessary items in the caravan that couldn't be used such as lamps situated where there were no plug sockets. There was a lack of plug in general which meant that you couldn't watch TV at the same time as having a lamp on. The kitchen was very basic. The grill wouldn't stay on and to use it, you would have to keep the gas knob pressed in. There was only one shelf in the oven, which meant that cooking for 5 people was tricky. From staying in other caravans there seemed a lack of storage space in bedrooms. We also couldn't seem to find any instructions on how the heating worked. When we arrived the shower was on and the bathroom floor was flooded, I believe there had been a problem with the water on site before we arrived so assumed that when the cleaners were in they forgot to turn off the shower. The light switch in the bathroom was also too short. This meant that 2 of the 3 children couldn't use the bathroom at night as they couldn't reach the pull cord. It was also very hard to shut the double bedroom door, which meant waking the children up eheb the adults went to bed. I think it would also be worth mentioning that, as you are surrounded by established trees that it is quite a common noise to hear acorns falling onto the roof. This wasn't a problem but 2 of the children were a bit scared of the noise on the first night.

We had a fantastic stay here at Muscat.
The property was beautiful and felt safe and comfortable. The area was also in a good location and was close to other tourist areas if you have a car (and we saw a bus stop very close by too). Jon and Mel answered any questions we had and kindly provided us with basic necessities such as tea, milk, coffee, sugar and biscuits etc.. thank you. There were certain small things which could have been improved but certainly did not impact our stay. We felt there was definitely a need for a serving spoon or ladle in the kitchen cupboards. There seemed to be everything else other then this. There were also no cleaning facilities despite asking us to leave the lodge clean and tidy upon our departure (we had to go out and buy surface wipes/toilet rolls etc as there were no spares). Also could have done with some washing up liquid (we were left with an empty bottle which had enough for a plate or two). We did find a few dead insects upon arrival also but again, this was an easy fix and easily missed. Overall though, there is everything you could want. An easy to use hot tub, tourist magazines/leaflets, TVâs, two bathrooms, lots of kitchen equipment and guides on how to use oven etc.. and most of all, a beautiful lodge. Thank you both for a wonderful stay. We will definitely recommend/would return in the future.

PRO'S: Claret Lodge was beautiful and perfect for a small group.
It was very clean inside and the beds were comfortable. The hot tub was excellent and the combi boiler meant we always had hot water on demand. The TV had a good signal and internet signal was strong too. Overall the lodge itself lived up to expectation and we were happy with our stay. CONS: - there is a very noisy road at the back of the lodges which starts to get busy by 6am and as the bedrooms face this road as well as the hot tub, it wasnt as peaceful as we had hoped and we did not get to sleep in past 6am due to the traffic noise. - the sofa is very small and uncomfortable unfortunately. An L shaped sofa or recliners would have been better in this lodge to maximise comfort. - it would have been nice to have a larger fridge freezer. As this is self catering accommodation and with only 2 shelves and an icebox it meant we had to go to food shop everyday. There is a grey sideboard by the dining table which doesnt really serve a purpose and a 50/50 full size fridge freezer would fit there nicely.

The kitchen/lounge area of the lodge was clean and generally well fitted out.
The addition of a teapot would be good and also a 2nd oven glove - lifting a hot dish out of the oven with 1 hand is not really safe. However, it is in the bathrooms that my criticism begins. The sink is way too small and it is difficult to get your head over the sink when cleaning your teeth/shaving. When sitting on the loo you can easily see very dirty marks on the front of the shower tray - not acceptable. Sealant in the shower had dirt/mould on it - but even worse was the appalling smells that both shower rooms gave from the drains once you have taken a shower. Not nice when you sleep in the adjoining bedrooms and a possible health risk. Only 1 toilet roll was provided for each bathroom for a weeks stayâ¦. Also a hairdryer being provided would have been better than having to carry my own. Luxury lodge - no . Eco lodge - not sure how that can be with a hot tub outside, although not used by us. Such a shame as there is so much to enjoy about this accommodationâ¦..but not by us again.

The property was immaculate.
Everything was as described in the details we were sent. Careful consideration had clearly been given to the quality of the accommodation and the maintenance of the site. A simple comments: The address information should include the words: The Vineyard Luxury Holiday Lodges, then Lodge Gardens, as was the accommodation we had. There was no indication of this address from the roadside. There is a sign set back behind the Isle of Wight Distillery (which is clearly marked on the road, very helpful to have this as a marker). It is also at the rear of the pub, The Wishing Well - excellent restaurant and staff - which is another helpful marker. Something else useful would be a coat stand to the side of the entrance door to hang coats etc on as you enter the property. There is also a bus stop right outside the The Vineyard which has an excellent service into Ryde for change of service around the island if you want a day not using your car. Altogether a great stay!
