  Spotlessly clean, very well equipped, very comfortable beds / sofa, and in a nice tasteful and modern decor.

  We had no need to meet with the owner, but communications with them via txt message were very helpful and very prompt. Should we have had any issues, i have no doubt they'd have been dealt with quickly. Situated on a quiet row of cabins, on the outer southern edge of Nawton, we found the cabin a great place for a break. Great views to the south over the fields. It was chosen for being more or less central to everywhere we had intended to visit - National Bird of Prey Centre, York, Lightwater Valley / Flamingo Land, Whitby, Scarborough, York Outlets, Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington etc. Everything within an hours drive, mainly on lovely country roads, the route past Castle Howard being particularly fun to drive along, and the drive over the moors to Whitby being very picturesque. Well equipped cabin with dishwasher, toaster, microwave, double oven / grill with hob, tall fridge freezer (lots of space in both - should you need freeze anything), shower, toilet (obviously!), 2 very comfortable double beds, smart TV (remember to log out of Netflix etc before you leave!), excellent wifi coverage as well - which can be a deal breaker for a lot of people (ourselves included) these days, so worthy of a mention. I sat outside on the decking watching MOTD whilst doing some star photography, with no loss of signal. It's more or less in "dark sky" country, which is great, assuming the weather stays clear. Very comfy sofa and swivel chair. Breakfast bar with stools and large patio table / chairs outside should you wish to dine out there, which we did a couple of times. Towels and bedding are provided, but if you need larger towels for a trip to the sea, or the nearby outdoor pool in Helmsley you'll need bring your own. Speaking of the outdoor pool - it's very popular and you'll need book well in advance - we left it too late and didn't get a slot - you'll need book online. Plenty space to park - enough room for 2 cars if needed, one either side of the cabin. There's a Co-Op in Helmsley, and another larger one in Kirkbymoorside, and an Lidl in Pickering. In Nawton we tried the Fusion Spice Indian restaurant which was excellent, and we had wanted to try the Fish & Chip shop but that was cash only, so we had to change our plans. There's a good play area next to the cricket ground right at the end of the street you turn into, should you have children - swings, assault course thing, zip wire etc - the usual things. They were playing cricket there early evening the 3 times we visited as well, should that be of interest. Welcome pack left out for us with sausage / bacon & eggs, chocolate cake, bottle of wine and soft drink for our daughter and some cartridges for the Nespresso machine. Enough to get you started, and a lovely gesture. Bird feeder on the decking is fun to watch whilst having breakfast. Overall a great cabin, in a great very quiet central (for us!) location.   The lodge was very nice and comfortable.

  We was pleasantly suprised at how well equipped it was. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed. The beds were very comfy. On arrival the place looked clean and tidy however after being there for 5 mins my socks got covered in dog fur from a previous tenant. Luckily there was a hoover in the cupboard so I could hoover up all the dog hair. The fridge and freezer had also been left off so they were warm and a bit stinky when we arrived. The hot tub was perfect for us as a family of 3. But you would struggle to fit 4 adults in comfortably. We also wasn't too keen on the location of marigold lodge on the park itself as the hot tub sat right on the drive way. Which was fine when sitting in as the fence created privacy But when we got out of the hot tub we were on display to anyone passing by. There is parking for 1 car and they are small spaces. When we arrived a neighbour had also parked right next to our lodge as they had 2 cars. They wanted to leave it there but we requested they move it as it was right by our hot tub area. But there is limited additional parking. All of these issues were minor to us though and didn't spoil our time away. The location was perfect for us to explore the coast. Whitby, Robin hoods bay, falling Foss and Scarborough. It was very quiet there too which we liked and we visited the pub round the corner which served delicious food. We would return again in the future but maybe book a different lodge which has more privacy.

  It is a shame that it wasn't clear whether the lodge was part of the campsite and if there was an office or person on site for any issues.

  It was a shame that there was no info on if you could turn the hottub off and how long to reheat if it wasn't needed for a while. It is disgraceful that there is no way to recycle and would be interested to know what is being done to get the council to provide this. The lodge was immaculate and had everything needed including toilet roll, tea, coffee, milk and things to wash up with. The mattress was far too soft and uncomfortable and the chairs in the dining area were rickety and cheaply made. The sofa wasn't put together properly which meant that when I leaned on one side it tumbled over and knocked the table with the lamp mixer, luckily nothing broke and I'm ok. Also, it would be helpful to have tourist leaflets on the local area, I left some that I picked up. Everything else was excellent. Love the efforts to make the outside area look nice with trees etc. Really enjoyed our holiday. Location is excellent and we would recommend.

  Lovely clean property.

  Opted for the larger chalet this time and felt it was worth the extra money. Loved the little doggy extras plus milk in the fridge. It was a cold and windy week but didn’t feel it inside the chalet we were lovely and snuggly. Jodie was very easy to get hold of regarding a couple of issues that were quickly resolved or explained. One gripe was the double bed mattress kept slipping down the bed so ended up half way down the bed at night. Only other thing,there’s no bread knife but not exactly end of the world stuff. In all a fab week in a lovely chalet in a perfect location. Would stay again and recommend to others travelling with furry friends oh and pets

  Just returned from a fantastic 10 day stay.

  The lodge was immaculate and very well equipped. It’s ideally placed to explore all the beautiful villages and coastal places round the area. I would have given it a five star if it had a couple of additional things. It was lacking a dishwasher, although dishwasher tablets were left which was odd and also a washing machine. I’ve been to similar lodges and they have these things. It would also benefit from a blackout blind in bedroom as gets bright as early as 5 am. These are minor things and didn’t stop us having a fantastic time, just suggestion of ways of improving further. Would highly recommend, Runswick Bay is beautiful.
