  We absolutely loved it at Lanthorn Cottage.

  The 200 year old cottage is lovely, and the long garden was perfect for our dog to run up and down with a ball. The summer house was used by us daily, for reading a book or watching an ipad in the lovely peaceful surroundings. The kitchen had everything we needed, and the living room was cozy in the evenings. The beach was a short 10 minute walk away, through a field with a public footpath, turning left as you come out of the cottage road onto Grub Street, and then turn right off of Grub Street when you see the opening of the field. There's a clear walkway through the field, and then walk along the back of the caravan park and keep heading towards the lighthouse (zoom in on google maps or google earth, you can clearly see the footpath). There is a Tesco about 15 minutes drive away, but we've been to Eccles on Sea previously so knew our way around the area. I would always say to people who are looking to book a holiday anywhere, to do your research before finally booking. Although Sykes wont give you the full address of the cottage prior to your full payment being made, it does show you where the property is on the map and it's not that difficult to work out where the cottage is from the image shown on the website, or you can google the rough address and see whats local to the cottage, and where the beach is. I would say that we will probably be back to Lanthorn Cottage at some point, as we loved how quiet it was there, surrounded by fields and birdsong. The Housekeeper Siobhan was amazing, she gave us all the information we needed before we got there and nothing was too much trouble, not that we had any problems at all. The only reason we contacted her was to ask a couple of questions before we arrived and to thank her when we left. All in all, we would highly recommend Lanthorn Cottage.

  Luxurious homely cottage. Pond Cottage is beautiful from the moment you arrive at the wrought iron gate, taking you through a cottage garden to the lovely wooden door. The cottage is beautifully decorated and styled. The cleanliness is outstanding. The kitchen is very well equipped with everything you could need for a home from home stay. The furnishings are clean, good quality and create a relaxing, peaceful environment. The beds are comfortable and well presented. The bathroom has an excellent shower and the heating is easy to manage. There are two lounges with very different feels to them, one is modern and looks out on to the enclosed garden which is very nicely designed and maintained and the other is at the front of the property and has a cosy feel with a wood burner. The electrical items are of a high standard and very up to date. We loved everything about our stay at Pond Cottage and would have no hesitation in returning ourselves and recommending to others.

  Cottage was very clean and had a pretty garden.

  Great parking but had slight difficulty finding it as SatNav directed us to opposite end of Grub Street for some reason. Cottage was well equipped and cosy with the log burner alight and we had a relaxing break. Information on Sykes stated that beach, shop and pub were 0.1 miles away when in fact this turned out to be 1 mile for all. We did the walk on a lovely day but as lanes have no pavements this would not be great at night, or if you have young children. The close proximity of shop, pub, beach etc was one of the main reasons for booking the cottage so was disappointed to find that this was not the case and suggest information on Sykes is updated. Also, do not rely on the village shop for all your needs. Stocks lots of alcohol and gifts such as tea towels and coasters but slightly (extremely!) lacking in most other basics but there are plenty of nearby places to buy supplies which are a short drive away.

  Chiff Chaff Cottage was just perfect for our family of four, and our goldendoodle, for a relaxing end of year break. It's a fabulous location for a peaceful stay and ideally placed for exploring the stunning north Norfolk beaches of Wells, Holkham, Brancaster etc. The house itself is super clean, modern and cosy and the owners had thought of everything - doggy poo bags, dishwasher/washing capsules, cleaning products, bin liners, hand wash, linen, spare blankets, coat hangers and more. They'd even put a stylish Christmas tree up! We were particularly grateful for the luxurious hamper of local Norfolk treats - very generous. Great Wifi connection, log burner and parking right outside the front door. We didn't use it but there is a separate summer house, courtyard and fully fenced garden. You will love it here.

  A very attractive cottage with many original features.

  The living space was rather smaller than anticipated. It was nicely furnished but the sitting room furniture was not very comfortable. This was the first time we have arrived at a self catering accommodation to find no welcome pack - not so much as a few teabags and a pint of milk. There were also no cleaning products in the kitchen or bathroom. The garden was lovely and our Staffie enjoyed it - the fence at the front was relatively low so possibly not secure for a larger dog. Location was beautiful- very peaceful. The village is very small with only a pub. I believe the caravan park may have a shop for provisions- otherwise it is a 10 min drive to the nearest shop. Access to the beach was an easy 15 min walk. Communication with the cottage caretaker was very good.
