  My husband and I spent 4 days over Christmas at Margaretta House with our children and extended family, having stayed there previously for the October half term holidays. Margaretta House was the ideal choice for our large multigenerational group holiday, and we were very happy to come back for Christmas. The house is spacious and was beautifully decorated with a large Christmas tree. The house was warm, and had several woodburning stoves and an aga, perfect for winter. The kitchen was well-equipped, making it really easy for us to prepare all our meals including Christmas lunch for 14, and the enormous dining room was perfect for our big family meals. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, and there are plenty of living areas to use so we never felt cramped. My children loved the massive sofas in the kitchen where they could play or watch TV whilst the adults cooked. Another highlight was the heated indoor swimming pool which the whole family used every day during our stay. The gardens are large and there was plenty of room for our children to run around (safely) outside and we all enjoyed petting the very friendly sheep. Great location and perfect for trips to the North Norfolk beaches and Sandringham which is close by. Highly recommend and would book again.

  Lovely quirky cottage (we stayed in pilgrims prospect) beds very comfortable and had all amenities in cottage that we needed including many TV channels. Even a well thought out welcome basket of treats! Cottage was ideally placed for our dog with a fenced garden directly outside our door, although shared with pilgrims chase, but this never caused a problem. Location of cottages is a short stroll along the lane to the expanse of bacton beach which again was perfect for dog walks. The pool area was fantastic with lovely heated pool and showers, and although each cottage is allocated 1 and half hour slot of exclusive use each day, the manager Maxine was very approachable and accommodating to change our pool times to suit us! The added bonus of a small but nicely equipped games room with pool table/air hockey and a football table and video game machines was great for our teenaged son.

  We had the most fantastic time at Margaretta House. The house is gorgeous (even more than the photos suggest!), and everything was immaculate. We were a group of adults with young children and it was perfect for us: extremely spacious, beautiful grounds (with even a playground and a trampoline) and of course the pool, which was warm and lovely to bath in despite the freezing temperatures. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and we cooked all of our meals there easily. Elizabeth was absolutely wonderful from the moment we booked until the moment we checked out - she took care of every single one of our (many) needs, adapting to our check in/check out times, and even unpacking our grocery delivery for us before we arrived. Thank you so much for everything, Elizabeth, we will definitely be back!

  Divine! Staying at beautiful Margaretta House was like stepping into a dream! The avenue leading up to the house was amazingly beautiful with snowdrops on both sides and the garden and the rest of the estate is good for taking a walk or just rest on a bench admiring the beauty. There is also a lovely heated swimming pool in the garden. Margaretta House is very nice decorated and all the rooms have good beds with quality linen. There are several fire places in the House, which makes it warm and cosy on the colder days. What makes Margaretta House truly special are the very warm and attentive hosts who made us feel so welcome! Thank you for a divine experience with much rest and peace. I highly recommend Margaretta House and hope to come back soon myself!

  We loved the little barn and found it such a pleasing place to stay in. We kept finding new clever things which had been done. It was very comfortable and very peaceful indeed and the information was all at hand. We are both very elderly and some of the modern equipment needs puzzling out. We know N.Norfolk well, loved the primrose banks and the newly ploughed fields. Sadly our families were very worried about us with the coronavirus and we decided to leave 2 days early to calm them down... I think back on Wheelwrights barn with sadness and wonder in these hard times! So sorry we did not manage to set the alarm when leaving - but I did tell you as soon as we got home.
