What our customers say about their holidays

    Lovely barn, basic but pretty.

The garden is beautiful and perfect for dogs and safe for children. The barn is also pretty. We struggled without clothes drying facilities as in a tumble dryer with a family of four. The double bed we found uncomfortable but the two single beds in the other room were lovely. We regularly stay in cottages and barns across England and Wales and think that a gesture of milk and bread is often much appreciated especially when accommodation is so far from local shops. The host Anna was lovely and helpful, there if you need advice. The area is lovely for walkers, for the children and more active days out such as theme parks and similar we often went back to Wales and enjoyed a day out in Bewilderwood in Chester as well. The local Ludlow Castle was lovely and Shrewsbury Town is pretty. There are lovely walks on the grounds of the barn. There is a pub within a 10 mins walk from the barn, it wasn't for us so we often went to the Nags Head in Pontesbury, food was lovely and drinks lovely. Lovely stay but with a few changes recommended as above.

What a lovely cosy, peaceful and spacious cottage this is.

We were met with chocolate brownies which went down well with the kids, milk and eggs, thank you! The cottage catered very well for our two dogs (Pepsi & Bree), the boot room was a must with the occasional shower we experienced most of the week. But putting the weather aside we enjoyed the walks around the cottage, some ending up at the local pub! Anna made us feel very welcome and whilst she went on a well deserved holiday the in-laws ade sure we were okay at all times. The cottage had everything we needed, the card table got a lot of use each evening. An enclosed garden for the dogs was a delight. We’ve always struggled to have a fully enclosed garden and we’re relieved this wasn’t something we had to watch out for for the full week. The log burner was also great a couple of cold evenings. All in all, we would recommend this cottage to anyone, it was a great relaxing week. Thank you

We had the most wonderful and relaxing week at Hope Hall Barn, Anna the owner was welcoming, with a straight forward check in and provided lots of local information, maps and suggestions for walks directly from the property.

The secure and enclosed garden was wonderful for our dog, being able to open the door for him, knowing he was safe at all times was such a treat The barn was clean and comfortable with everything we needed for our stay, including plenty of logs for the log burner and a delicious home made lemon drizzle cake, thank you Anna The property is very quiet and set remotely at the top of a long drive, the views of the surrounding countryside are amazing, even though it was a bit wet and windy we spent time sitting outside with a cuppa soaking up the tranquility. There is a local pub - The Stables which was a 10 minute walk from the property which is very cosy with an open fire and a varied menu, we would recommend the home made pies This was our first visit to Shropshire, Im sure without doubt we will return in the future

We have been visiting Sykes Cottages for many years now and Hope Hall Barn is by far the best!

We had a lovely week and were so lucky with the weather. The barn is so well equipped and comfortable. The garden is lovely and safe for dogs, loads of room to run free. There are many places to visit nearby but shops are 2.5 miles away so make sure you stock up with food or Sainsburys at Shrewsbury will deliver. A long gravel track leads to the property which is on the top of a hill. The views are amazing ! The lady owner lives just opposite and does everything she can to help if needed. We were greeted with a lovely cake, milk and flowers. We can’t wait to return and would fully recommend the barn. which is on the top of a hill. The views are amazing !!

We have just spent a really wonderful week at Hope Hall Barn.

We absolutely loved it. The barn is lovely, clean, extremely well equipped and very comfortable and Anna and her son Sam were lovely, helpful but not intrusive at all. There is a log burner and lots of logs supplied but it was a very hot week and we didn't need them. The barn is very quiet and rural which we loved. It is only a ten minute walk down the lane from a fabulous pub called The Stables which has a secure beer garden if you have children or dogs. The food was absolutely delicious and would highly recommend it. The barn has a brilliant, very large and fully secure garden which our dog made the most of, it was fantastic. We will definitely be back! Thank you
