What our customers say about their holidays

I will start at one end and work my way to the other.
The towels provided had a very strong mildew smell. We were 3 adults and 1 child staying for 6 days. They provided just one extra roll of toilet paper. Hand soap was provided on the sinks of the two bathrooms. For the bathroom off of the big bedroom, no soap was provided nor was there a proper place to put it. We bought bar soap from Tesco and I balanced it on some of the pipes. Wasps kept trying to come in and make nests and that might be why the bathroom vents have all been taped up on the outside. The hot water was powered by gas. The instructions for the cabin said is the gas run out to change the tank if we felt comfortable with being able to do it. It did not say what to do if we were not comfortable doing that. Even when we had not been using it, the hot water would sometimes not be hot. Staying in an unfamiliar place, we wanted to leave the light on in the hallway bathroom. Unfortunately, there is no way to have the light on without the exhaust fan also running. It was annoying having to hear the exhaust fan all night. The hallway bathroom did not flush properly, but we were able to fix that. It simply had not been set up properly. The kitchen was a place of multiple problems. There were no instructions on how to use the oven. The oven knobs had the numbers 1 through 8 on them. No temperature markings. No idea of how to know when the oven was up to temperature. Many of the dishes and silverware provided to us were dirty. Most of the knives were dull and flimsy. The only sharp knife was a little paring knife. There was a spoon in the drawer with old milky tea dried in it, as if it were used to stir a drink and then just put directly back into the drawer. Also, one of the bowls on the kitchen shelf has several dried hardened on spots of mystery splatter in it as well as an aged, gummy candy stuck to the inside of it The inside door latches were difficult to operate. We had to tape over one door because my grandson got trapped in a room and was unable to open the door. The sliding glass doors in the living room are not properly sealed on one side, so there was a steady stream of flies coming in.

We had a wonderful stay and the glorious weather was such a bonus to appreciate the beautiful setting of Down The Rabbit Hole.
We appreciated the eclectic style and attention to detail - I think there is everything there you could possibly need for a great holiday - with many thoughtful additions such as umbrellas, a pack of toothbrushes/razors in case you forgot to pack them. We loved watching the planes coming and going from Bristol airport (I will add they were in the distance and not over-head so there was no noise pollution). Down The Rabbit Hole is well positioned for the coast and so many tourist attractions. There were no negatives for us at all - the only things I would say are - it would be worth mentioning in the details there is a ramp/walkway as well as the couple of steps up to the cabin (if you have restricted mobility). Although completely flat inside there is a threshold to the front and patio door entrances so not suitable for a wheelchair. The fridge door tends to swing back and hit the wall and I noticed black paint marks on the wall and missing paint where the fridge catches the wall (top left corner) - maybe helpful to save your fridge by sticking a small rubber protector to the wall to prevent further damage. We loved the welcome pack (thank you for providing) - the yogurt would probably have been better in the fridge than in the hamper as it was a really hot day and had been sat there for quite a few hours before we arrived. Those comments are just to be helpful as we absolutely loved our stay and would have liked to stay longer - but it was not available so we are sat inside another holiday cottage writing this review. We would have no hesitation in returning and recommending to others.

We stayed here to celebrate my 60th birthday.
This is a beautiful house with a lovely garden in a beautiful location. We did swim in the freshwater pond and it really did add to the experience including the pond life. The games room was a great extra and we made good use of the table tennis table. Plenty of space downstairs for 8 people but I would say that the beds did not feel enough for 8 adults, the 4th room with the trundle bed would be better for children and we had to move the chest of drawers onto the landing to extend the trundle bed and leave room for 2 adults. This house is very much the owners home and it felt strange at first because very personalised. We loved the decor downstairs but again the upstairs was a bit too much like staying with a relative for a few nights particularly the 2 childrens rooms. No wardrobe space in the bedrooms except for the master where a space had been made among the owners belongings. Very little drawer space and many of the drawers were filled with clothing and underwear belonging to the owners children. I had the master suite which had a lovely bathroom and views of the garden. Im not sure my family were particularly impressed with their sleeping arrangements but were too polite to say as I had paid. Four bathrooms with great showers in all of them. We had a fabulous week in the house but there are improvements that could be made particularly upstairs

What a lovely cabin, we arrived on the 28th December and we walked into a warm cosy cabin the Christmas tree was lit and we couldnât of asked for a more warmer welcome!
The accommodation is spacious and very clean. The welcome pack was lovely and they have literally thought of everything you could possibly need which was brilliant as we wanted to visit the local butcher and do some cooking. The information pack was clear and had lots of info on places to visit. The location of the cabin was perfect for getting around and there is so many things to do and place to dine in the surrounding areas would highly recommend a visit to the wells market and cathedral and Cheddar. I will say if you wanted to walk to the local pub it could be a little dangerous as no actual pathway but we didnât try out the golf club which could be an option but for us this was a good thing as wanted to recover from Christmas anyway lol. The hosts are fantastic as due to heavy rain our lights went out and within minutes David was with us to get the problem sorted out. My only issue which isnât a big thing it just would just of been great for me being lazy in the morning if there was a fenced in area we could just let the dog out and if we return in the summer which we would like to do we wouldnât have to worry about the patio doors being open and him running off. A great stay and a great place would highly recommend a stay here!

We were a family of 3 generations and had a great week at the house.
The gardens are gorgeous and the rooms are all beautifully furnished and the upstairs games room was priceless as it kept the two youngest very happy for hours on end playing ping pong and watching TV. Our favourite thing however hands down, was the swimming pond and we went in it almost daily, come rain or shine. It was also lovely just to sit next to it and watch the reflections of the clouds in the water, the swallows dive into it by day and the bats flutter around it by night. The children made full use of the hot tub, and we loved having the horses behind the house and enjoyed the eggs we were given from the chickens. The house is in a fantastic location with so many places to see within a short drive. We managed trips to Clifton, Tyntesfield House, Ashton Court (not that exciting in itself but the cafe is worth visiting), Bath, Symonds Yat and a coastal walk near Weston Super Mere. We also visited the local village shop (Honey & Ginger) and the Failand Inn pub for a meal. Waitrose and Tesco were only about a 10 minute drive away in Nailsea, I would definitely recommend staying here and I've already had a couple of friends ask for the details to the house.
