What our customers say about their holidays

Lucy was fantastic, she was friendly and obliging over text and helping me get in.
The Hut itself is a beautiful thing. I was able to cook easily and one can make the space quite toasty of a chilly evening if you so wish. Its on a very pretty farm; I enjoyed seeing Velvet the pig in the morning from the bathroom window and loved the horse who would often approach the enclosure out of carefree curiosity. The Hut door faces the sunrise. As I was there to meditate and relax, I was delighted to discover the open to public spiritual gardens and yurt of "The Quiet View" only two minutes up the road (give it a google). I really enjoyed the country lane and woodland walks the surrounding area had to offer. I was surprised how quiet and left to my own devices I could get as its only 7 miles from a city. I popped into Canterbury for the Cathedral (and Tesco) and it was only 20 mins on the bus with a £2 card tap. That said, a breezy walk into next village Barham has quite a nice shop and Bishopsbourne the other way had a nice pub and cafe. About 150m up the road from the Hut was a blue plaque for the Sculptor Henry Moore who lived there in the 30s (for any fellow nosy art nerds out there!). A really gorgeous stay, I shall return.

I think overall Ellaâs loft is a great place to stay and I enjoyed my week away.
The bed was very comfortable. Kitchen has everything you need. The homemade muffins were a nice touch. The hot tub was one of the best Iâve used. Definitely the highlight of my week. However itâs clear that the photos advertised were taken when the place was new. In my opinion it could do with a spruce up. Cracks in the bathroom floor, plaster coming off of the walls. It was pointed out to me that the blind in the bedroom was broken and being held down by wire, surely this is something that can easily be replaced? The Wi-Fi didnât work at all during my stay, I reported it and was told the router had been reset but it still didnât work. I had to use my own mobile data to watch the tv. I was only provided with one toilet roll and had to ask for more when that ran out mid stay. I donât think this is something guests should have to ask for. I donât like to leave negative feedback but there are just a few things that were missing for me to make this a five star stay.

What a wonderful little gem in the Kentish countryside.
We absolutely loved our stay here. Almost in two minds whether to leave a review as the selfish part of me wants to keep this place secret. Located in the beutiful town of Godmersham, Ella's Loft is a great base for either a relaxing weekend away or a week of exploring all the wonders Kent has to offer. Lots of lovely walk or cycling options straight from your doorstep. The hosts Steve and Sheila were wonderfully friendly and accommodating. They invited us for a walk one night and they let us explore grounds of the gorgeous Godmersham Hall with them and their two very lovable dogs. They gave us loads of great recommendations and Steve's baking was something else. The loft itself is very homely and well equipped. It's perfect for a couple. The hot tub is a wonderful luxury we ensured to make the most of during our stay. On our last night we were even lucky enough to see a meteor shower. We will definitely be looking to return in the future.

On the listing they have failed to mention that this property is actually located in their front garden.
The only privacy you will get is in the actual cabin. You can see and hear the owners when you are in the hot tub. One of the owners was making a loud noise by chopping wood. Their daughter and granddaughter had arrived and they were loud. This isnât mentioned on the website but it is mentioned in the welcome pack (after youâve paid and arrived of course). They refused to give me a refund even though we left a few hours after arriving. I left because I couldnât relax with the feeling of being watched. I was seen as I was walking to the hot tub and Iâm very self conscious of my body because of my scars from having cancer. I will definitely be taking this further. I am so upset.

The shepherdâs hut was ideally placed in the corner of a field fenced off from the sheep, pig & horse that were close by - if you love farm animals as I do, this is the place for you.
The hut is nicely fitted out & comfortable - obviously space is at a premium but you have everything you need including a little wood burning stove which makes it very cosy. The cooking facilities are quite adequate for one-pot meals or stir-fries - there are 2 rings which are super-fast. You wonât manage to do a roast as there is no oven but there are nearby pubs that do good meals. There is a toaster & a fridge & a separate bathroom with shower. Canterbury is a very short driving distance & is always a delight to visit. Happily back to its busy, buzzing self after Covid. A lovely place to stay - owners provided bread, milk & eggs - what more could you want for a lovely countryside break?
