What our customers say about their holidays

This was an impromptu break, so I didnât research the cottage in as much depth as I normally would.
I just wanted somewhere that looked comfy, allowed my dog, and wasnât too much of a journey from home. It turned out to be all of those things and loads more. So much so that I would happily sell up and move there tomorrow..... The cottage is very clean, light, airy and spacious. The main bed is exceptionally comfortable (didnât try the others, obviously), and the choice between full bathroom and full shower room was perfect for me. The south-facing patio, looking out over the fields and hills, is idyllic and we spent a lot of time there, watching the swallows and swifts toing and froing. We had the bonus of stunning weather too. And peaceful......so very peaceful..... The location is also perfect for country walks, and of course a good base for NT properties Berrington Hall, Croft Castle and Brockhampton Estate. The cottage is also well equipped, with most things provided that any normal person or family would want. There are a couple of things that the kitchen is short of but, as a self-catering veteran, I am always prepared for this, as I am used to it..... In short, I and my furry friend loved it and had the most fabulous weekend ever. We will certainly be returning. As soon as we can save our pennies to do so in fact.......

We had a splendid week at Bullfinch cottage, Kingsland.
It was easy to find, even though we werenât familiar with the district, especially with its own sign at the end of the road. The parking space in front of the property was good. The cottage was delightful, immaculate, comfortable and with everything we needed to make us feel this was the place for us. The kitchen was well equipped, the dining area excellent and we enjoyed relaxing in front of the smart TV before repairing to the excellent bedrooms. It was really peaceful to be in the quiet depth of the countryside, while within easy reach of shops and towns. Every day we were able to visit a place of interest including Eastnor Castle and Brockhampton Estate and the jewel of the holiday, the Mappa Mundi in Hereford Cathedral. We can recommend Bullfinch as a tranquil haven as well as an excellent base to explore the region. Oh yes we want to return!!! Maureen

We booked this property as it looked ideal for us to explore the area, it certainly didn't disappoint.
Quirky with character, all you required to have a relaxing and enjoyable stay. The layout was well thought out and the property owners who live next door and also run the local convenience store located to the front of their property were always available if needed. On arrival they met us with open arms and by the time we left I felt I had known them for many years having chats in their lovely old shop, they were so friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for you. We visited a couple of national trusts not that far away plus a bit of sight seeing, weather behaved during the day so we made the most of it. If you are looking for a relaxing break in a sleepy chocolate box village and have no major mobility issues I suggest give this place a try, you will love it. Hope to return at some point in the future..

Unfortunately we were generally disappointed with the property although as a base for our cycling holiday the location was very good.
One of the main reasons we selected this property was that secure bike storage was listed however, upon arrival we found this was not available and as such our cycles had to be left outside. We felt the overall appearance of the property was shabby with curtains hanging off their rails and black mould and stained walls clearly visible. The patio area was dirty and covered in birds droppings and weeds. The plastic chairs were dirty and covered in mould. One of the wooden benches was rotten and the barbecue had not been cleaned. No parasol or chair covers were available. I would strongly recommend someone from Sykes visits this property as I suspect it is some time since an inspection was undertaken.

We had a lovely, restful time in this peaceful cottage set in the countryside, surrounded by fields, orchards, birds and sheep - I would certainly like to stay here again.
The cottage had all the necessities and was beautifully clean, the bedding and towels were very good quality. It felt like a real home from home for us two friends who live at opposite ends of the country to have a peaceful catch up, good walks and good food. The fresh eggs, doggy treats and a hand written note were a most kind thought. There are low beams of course, as to be expected in a building of this age but they were no problem. There are some good walks on Hereford Lane and other minor lanes nearby - the walk to Shobdon Arches is a real treat (as is the food at The Bateman Arms). Be careful if walking on the A4110 and B4362 though - there are no verges and the traffic goes at a rush.
