  Beautiful cottage, exceptionally well equipped and spotlessly clean. We all loved the cottage and felt very comfortable during our stay. The welcome pack was a lovely touch and all of the Easter goodies were a hit with the children! The location was ideal for places we planned to visit. It was beautifully finished and had everything we needed as a group of 6. We could tell from the photos online that the property looked to be finished to a high standard and this is something we really appreciate when looking for a holiday home. The whole process was very straightforward. All of the essentials were really useful. We had a grocery delivery the first evening but the welcome basket provided everything we needed to get us started. We have been really impressed with Coquet Cottages throughout the whole process. We first booked with you in April 2020 and the pandemic unfortunately stopped our plans. When we were looking to book this trip, I recalled how helpful you had been at the time and how quickly we had been refunded without any hassle at all. When we needed to rearrange our dates because of a hospital appointment, you were so very helpful I would not hesitate to recommend you and will definitely be booking our next Northumberland trip with you. I just wish there were Coquet Cottages all over the UK. Thank you!

  We travelled on 11 July only one week after lockdown was lifted so were a little apprehensive about our holiday.

  We needn’t have worried as the cottage exceeded our expectations, everywhere was spotlessly clean, very comfortable but cosy and well equipped with all we needed to have a fabulous stay. Rachael is the perfect host, she knocked to make sure everything was fine for us, she’s there if you need her but not intrusive. The welcome pack was lovely & the wine & chocolates very welcome & thoughtful. The cottage is decorated beautifully, as there was only the two of us we only used one bedroom but the bed was very comfortable & plenty of storage space. The beach is only five minutes walk through the gardens & goes on for miles so the doggies really appreciated the long walks. Marske is a great little town, only two minutes walk from the cottage & has a good variety of shops, pubs & takeaways & most were open considering it was only the second week after lockdown was eased. This was our first visit to the north east & we had some lovely days out, there is plenty of places within a short drive. We had a wonderful holiday & will be back as there’s plenty more to explore. We can highly recommend a stay at The Sanctuary, we will definitely be booking again in the future.

  Perfect cottage, everything had been thought off, it was warm and inviting the beds were comfortable and there was more than sufficient items in the kitchen to cook a meal.

  Lovely small garden that we sat out in and our dogs enjoyed sun bathing in. Good wi fi which was useful when looking for info on local attractions and important to our teenager. Lots of nice personal touches and a welcome bottle of Prosecco and treats for our dogs. It’s was handy for everything a short walk to the lovely beach through the nearby gardens and in the opposite direction the centre of the village which had lots of nice places to eat, some lovely pubs and cafes all very dog friendly and a handy Co op supermarket for groceries. We never had a problem with parking and parked the entire week beside the gates to the nearby garden so only a minutes walk away. Our only slight niggle was the lighting downstairs in the lounge, which is low for ambience and there is only one table lamp, so if you are readers as we are, you might find it difficult to read at night, but this is more to do with us getting to a certain age where you need good light and reading glasses! But we loved it and would highly recommend the cottage as one of the best we have stayed in. We hope to be back soon.

  The Oystercatcher was perfect in every way with its stylish décor and attention to detail. Everything has been thought of. I was particularly impressed with the butter knife and the rubber gloves! I’d taken my own but did not need them. The communication during our stay was very thoughtful. The information provided prior to our stay was extremely informative and the courtesy call before our holiday was a nice touch. The accommodation was in a perfect location and had everything we needed. The website was easy to follow and the information provided was clear. The photos of the accommodation looked extremely appealing and we were not disappointed. My initial phone call with Coquet Cottages was answered professionally and in a friendly manner and this was the case with all of my communication with the staff of Coquet Cottages. I can honestly say it was just perfect and made all the more special as this was our very first holiday with our new baby granddaughter. We will definitely be back.   This is a lovely cosy cottage in a beautiful location.

  All very clean and tidy. The beds were comfy - always a bonus. Had all the bits and bobs we needed such as washing-up liquid, hand soap, some tea and coffee - these are all little extras that are appreciated. The fizz and chocolates were a lovely surprise too. The courtyard at the back is small, and our dog needed a bigger space really, but we just went for lots of beach walks instead to tire her out. We parked in the neighbouring street as it was tight for our VW van. Plenty of parking near to the cottage. Marske itself is great - the cottage is a couple of minutes walk from the centre - small Sainsburys, pub, bigger Co-op and great cafes, pet shop, post office and bakery. Everything you need without having to drive. Can walk along the beach a couple of miles either way to the next town. Beach is dog friendly and generally very quiet. Locals are very friendly too. Middlesborough very close and Whitby, Sandsend, Staithes not too far away. Would definitely return here.
