What our customers say about their holidays
Suzanne - Verified booking
The parkdean resort was amazing.
The location, facilities and entertainment were great for a family holiday. We ate on site a couple of time and used the passes to access the pool and clubhouse I. The evening and both adults and children enjoyed it thoroughly. However, the caravan was not uo to the same standard as we expected from such a great site. The interior was dated, there were lots of unnecessary items in the caravan that couldn't be used such as lamps situated where there were no plug sockets. There was a lack of plug in general which meant that you couldn't watch TV at the same time as having a lamp on. The kitchen was very basic. The grill wouldn't stay on and to use it, you would have to keep the gas knob pressed in. There was only one shelf in the oven, which meant that cooking for 5 people was tricky. From staying in other caravans there seemed a lack of storage space in bedrooms. We also couldn't seem to find any instructions on how the heating worked. When we arrived the shower was on and the bathroom floor was flooded, I believe there had been a problem with the water on site before we arrived so assumed that when the cleaners were in they forgot to turn off the shower. The light switch in the bathroom was also too short. This meant that 2 of the 3 children couldn't use the bathroom at night as they couldn't reach the pull cord. It was also very hard to shut the double bedroom door, which meant waking the children up eheb the adults went to bed. I think it would also be worth mentioning that, as you are surrounded by established trees that it is quite a common noise to hear acorns falling onto the roof. This wasn't a problem but 2 of the children were a bit scared of the noise on the first night.

Overall, our stay at the house was enjoyable, with a few minor inconveniences.
The location was excellent, just minutes away from Sainsbury's supermarket and restaurants, making it convenient for our daily needs. The well-stocked kitchen was a highlight, and the thoughtful welcome gift of biscuits and milk added a nice touch to our arrival. However, there were some issues that detracted from our experience. Firstly, the incorrect Wifi network name in the manual caused initial confusion. Additionally, parking instructions need improvement. Although there are only four parking spaces opposite the house, we found that the free car park nearby only allowed parking for 12 hours per day, which was inconvenient for overnight parking. Fortunately, we discovered that Dunstan Avenue allowed unrestricted parking, and we utilized the available space there. Inside the house, we encountered a few inconveniences. The iron was difficult to locate and stored separately from the ironing board, which was unexpected. The creaking floorboards, particularly on the top floor, created a noisy environment for those below. The small kitchen and uncomfortable wooden chairs were less than ideal for extended periods of use. Additionally, the low ceilings and narrow, steep staircase posed hazards, and we found ourselves hitting our heads and tripping on small steps multiple times.

A group of ladies stayed for the weekend at Hare House , whilst the cottage is well equipped & clean I did feel it lacked certain elements you would expect when paying over £1,000 for a 3 night stay .
Some of the decor is a bit dated , cracked tiles in bathroom window sill on middle floor , broken Roman blind in middle room took 2 of us to get down & just left it down for the whole weekend as it was so fiddly , no mirror in top bedroom , about 6 coat hangers in the whole 3 bedrooms ! The only hooks for coats in downstairs toilet did not allow for a long coat as the coat hook is placed over washing machine . The outside space is facing out on to the main road , it is enclosed by hedges but there was a lot of traffic noise from the main . Also the garden was starting to get overgrown it had clearly not been attended to recently . The parking as at booking I realise it did say there was no allocated space but felt there could make suggestions for local parking as a lot of the surrounding roads are double yellow lines & the free parking just up the road was for 12 hours only . The location is very good for the shops , town & pubs . I realise my review sounds really picky but felt for the price things could be better .

We have just returned from a long weekend at Berisal (four generations of one family.
) We all thoroughly enjoyed being at the property. The owners kindly provided us with a digital copy of a guide to the house before we arrived. This thoughtful gesture was so useful and meant that we didnât have to spend the first half hour or so of our visit familiarising ourselves with the house. The house was spotlessly clean and we were greeted with a lovely card and welcome basket when we arrived. The beds were very comfortable and plenty towels and linens were supplied. The kitchen was well equipped Everything was just as shown on the website. The garden was immaculate and the hot tub was really appreciated by those who used it â my son, my granddaughter and her partner weâre brave enough to get in in cold February. The games room was heated and had its own toilet. The house was comfortable and we never felt cold. I can certainly recommend this property and for a multigenerational family like ours it was simply one of the best places we have stayed with Sykes.

I left a previous message.
. Its a lovely place but the owners must stop chasing the money and block out guests one or two days a month to keep on top of this property. I had to clean showers heads as blocked with scale .the down stairs shower scream when turned to hot as shower thermostat is starting to stick..hot tub not been cleaned ..don't believe if the chart says so I'm a retired plumber and heating guy who worked also on pools etc. Tea bags etc in kitchen 4 years out of date etc etc..had grass cut(pointless)twice in 4 days..i was recovering from hernia opp and wife in hot tub ..no text ..no email just turned up..poor communication..its not cheap to stay here so please spend and reinvest..stayed twice in a month and nothing altered..cleaners need to be more vigilant.
