  Very disappointed to have rang before booking and checking of there was a dishwasher which stated on the website, the guy at the time confirmed there was everything we needed, which we was torn between wales or closer to home for a shorter drive.. as we arrived all seemed ok and beautiful so I decided to do a thorough check to see if we needed more pots or plates etc as my husband was coming later in the day , anyway the first thing we noticed NO DISHWASHER despite the website saying and the guy on the phone telling me there was, I rung to ask where was it located and Lauren who was a lovely lady called me back to say no there’s never been a dishwasher on that property which was a massive disappointment I instantly wanted to ask for my money back and go home as I work long hrs that was meant to be my Xmas present from my family to do nothing just cook and chill I then checked the rug & that hadn’t been hoovered properly as there was dog fur still the tiles in the kitchen were dirty and as I like to disinfect the sides I wiped the work tops and were dirty.. the flash upstairs only my husband could get it to flash which was a nightmare So we had to carry buckets of water up when someone used it over night, Over all I would never use the original cottages to book anything else anymore as they clearly mislead people. Very very disappointing but least now people are warned if you plan going there for a Xmas break you will be cooking and washing up constantly… Family asked for the details and I have refused to recommend it to anyone as I would expected better cleaning and at least a dishwasher as there’s enough room for one..

  A lovely comfortable house, very clean and spacious.

  A huge disappointment was lack of a microwave. This meant no bringing home a ready meal to quickly heat up, no easy made sachet porridge for breakfast, no warming up a takeaway. Other guests have commented on this so its obviously a deliberate decision by the owner to avoid people eating in (mess? damage? cost of cooker?). The restaurants were a mile or so away and as an older guest who doesn't always like driving at night how to get an evening meal was a problem for us during our stay. Such a shame as the conservatory would have been lovely to eat in at night. As a s/c host myself I always put the guests first as their holidays are expensive and important to them. No-one wants to cook on holiday with an unfamiliar cooker- and there was no manual. So for the lack of the microwave and also no hairdryer, corkscrew, washing up liquid or instructions on using cooker or TV. I have given a low score for facilities. Apart from that the accomadation was very nice.

  The Cheesehouse is a gem of a property full of character and love.

  A home from home. The facilities at the property were great; everything needed for day to day living and enjoyment was available. There is something for everybody whether that be reading one of the many books available, completing a puzzle or two, partaking in board games, sitting in the conservatory watching the birds visit the bird table, getting ones eye in during a game of snooker or darts, propping oneself up at the bar after a long day, rambling through the village and the village orchard or taking the short journey to one of the many fabulous beach’s on the Jurassic Coast, or all of the above. I am very much looking forward to coming back again soon.

  Excellent, quiet and comfortable accommodation for visiting various parts of Dorset and for easy walking access to the town.

  All necessary facilities are provided including well resourced kitchen with microwave, washing machine and dryer, comfy beds and a decent shower plus unexpected extras such as Dolce Gusto coffee maker and welcome pack with milk, coffee, chocolate and a loaf. Back patio is a sun-trap to sit out and relax in the evening on returning from a long walk on the Downs. Dedicated parking space right outside the garden gate.

  The cottage has been done nicely. Be aware that it is down a farm track with no signs of where to find cottage, really not ideal and no warning of it. Also the stairs are very steep again no warning when we have little baby. Also a lot of cctv around the outside of the cottage, one sign warning you which is against a side window that you wouldn’t see.
