  Two fabulous weeks

  We just spent two fabulous weeks at Château Art De Vivre. We had our two daughters and their families with us. The granddaughters are 2,4,5 & 6. The house is ideal for three families as parents and kids have 2 private areas and grandparents have their area so there is as much separation as you need. It is very tastefully renovated with beautiful bathrooms and plenty of space, and feels very welcoming. The house has all you could want including a generously supplied kitchen and a huge table for outdoor dining. It is the host’s second house and is furnished as such. The grounds are large (situated next to a vineyard). The trampoline, play houses and slide were a huge bonus for the kids and all of us enjoyed the pool. It was very calm and peaceful, but within a 5-10 minute walk of two restaurants, and a fifteen minute drive to a large supermarket. We had fun at the weekly village night food market, drove to the beautiful Atlantic coast (30 mins) on several occasions and to Hourtin Lake (20 mins) which is ideal for little ones. Our host was most accommodating and helped us whenever we asked. His wife arranged a great wine tasting at Pichon Baron and an exceptional evening (nibble and sip) at a Fisherman’s cottage on the Gironde. We highly recommend Château Art de Vivre.

  Stunning villa with excellent facilities and beautiful pool

  We have just enjoyed a fabulous week in this luxurious villa. It was wonderful to wake up each morning to views towards the village of Chateauneuf in the distance and hear nothing but the sounds of birds and insects. The villa is very well equipped and designed with attention to detail. There are a variety of comfortable outdoor seating areas to choose from and the pizza oven was a huge success. The pool is large and salt water (no nasty chlorine) and sun loungers very comfortable with two huge sun parasols. Everything was so great that it was difficult to tear ourselves away. When we did, we enjoyed several visits to Valbonne (approx 15 minute car journey) to eat and wander round the Friday market. We did the walk from Le Bar-sur-Loup to Gourdon which has stunning views but was hard work in the July heat. Michelle (owner) was really helpful providing restaurant recommendations and very responsive if we had any queries during the week. Our only disappointment was that there are no restaurants or cafes in Chateauneuf itself. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this villa - it lived up to our expectations and more!

  Simply perfection

  We enjoyed the most relaxing and peaceful holiday at this villa in a delightful part of France. On arrival we received the warmest of welcomes from the owner to a very well considered and comfortable family home which was nothing less than stunning and this theme continued for the duration of our stay. An excellently constructed information guide provided us with all we needed to know and more, including contact details for the friendliest and most reliable taxi service we have ever used. We visited a selection of the restaurants recommended and were never disappointed, but we especially enjoyed the Auberge Provencale in Valbonne. The highlight of this glorious property is undoubtedly the outside space which includes a gas BBQ that doesn't require the purchase of gas bottles, a pizza oven, large pool and lounger area and, an amazing garden. To laze around the pool surrounded by the scents of Rosemary, Lavender and Thyme was a unique experience for us and one we shall definitely return to.

  Not your typical holiday rental

  Wow - Maison Meneac was superb. The description and photographs of the house do not do it justice. The owners have taken care renovating and decorating the house in a unique style that adds charm to the old building. The house was ideal, giving everyone their own space and something to do (wifi, tv, games, outdoor space). The house was clean and well stocked, more like a home from home than a typical holiday rental. The enclosed private garden was larger than expected, giving us plenty of outdoor space. While the village of Ménéac is small, it has all of the things you might need - bakery, shop, bar, chemist and church. Being small also means it is quiet and relaxed, which we enjoyed. Everyone we met in the village was friendly and welcoming. There is a larger supermarket about 10 minutes away in Merdrignac. Ménéac is the ideal location for exploring Brittany.
