  We had a great week.

  Four adults and two young children, we were all very comfortable and had everything we needed. The owners have set the property up extremely well, there are toys and games for youngsters, good garden facilities etc. The property is ideally situated for the beach - a very short walk, but far enough not to be inconvenienced by the very noisy bar. (NB there’s no accessible sand at high tide, but it’s great for kids when the water is lower.) The owners took time to send us a welcome message on our first evening to check we were happy. We had a couple of minor problems/queries and they were very responsive and got everything sorted very quickly. We would suggest a couple of improvements: 1) curtains at the small window in the second bedroom - the blind alone lets too much light in very early in the morning. 2) trim back the bamboo hedge on the road boundary to improve visibility when exiting the drive. There is parking for two good size cars on the drive. It’s a little awkward and took us a couple of days to work out the best way to get it right, but it’s definitely do-able. Over all we loved it.   We cannot fault our stay at 5 Yarmouth Cottages given the price charged for a 7 night stay.

  The property is a modern built property and is furnished accordingly. The owners allow pets, therefore dog friendly. Some reviews mentioned the furniture being worn, however, whilst not new, is is what to be expected of a dog-friendly property in our opinion. The cottages, numbers 1-6, are located on a private driveway, set well back from other properties which is nice. They have small but private patio areas, and good car parking outside each cottage. The location is quiet, but close enough to amenities a short drive away. There is a local farm shop within walking distance, the walk-in entrance being opposite the private driveway. There were just the two of us and our English Bulldog. If I were to find anything amiss, it would be our cottage was not equipped with a vacuum cleaner (just a sweeping brush) to clean-up the 'Dudley's dog hairs before we left, which is something we like to do out of respect for others property. Chatting to the occupiers of Cottage number 6 next door, on us leaving, they did indeed have a hoover but not us in number 5.

  The worst disaster possible with a rental cottage!

  We were able to get in initially but not easily, unpacked all our belongings into the cottage then went out, only to come back and be unable to gain entry. Neither key worked. We phoned the owner twice and left messages, tried to phone Sykes for help but your phone number isn't evident on the website!! Please put it somewhere easy to find. After 40 minutes of persistence with both keys we finally managed to gain entry. Phoned owner again and left another message. She rang back later and arranged for the door fitter to call the next day. He arrived and oiled the mechanism and told us the opening instructions given to us by the owner would result in the door lock mechanism jamming. I passed this information onto the owner together with the correct instructions for opening of the door by email. The situation was resolved but our holiday was spoilt as our nerves were shattered and we no longer had any confidence in our ability to re enter the property. We certainly would never return this property or its neighbour with similar locks.

  This property is well proportioned and has a far amount of room inside for a family of four.

  Was really hard to find especially as we arrived at night the postcode provided took us to a neighbouring property more signage would be really helpful as you can not see the property from the road. I think these were great lets in the day, however they now need a lot of maintenance. the state of the sofa was really bad, the door handle on the downstairs toilet is about to come off! The pull light cords in the bathrooms are absolutely disgusting, and the whole place really needs a revamp, there was only a few toilet rolls provided which seems rather tight for the amount of money you are paying, also as a holiday let there were certain items missing such as sugar basic sauce etc I know these are not listed as there but are something you expect with this type of property.

  The property is well located and clean however there are a couple of things that could be improved upon; 1.

  The quality of the kitchen equipment was poor - the saucepans were flimsy, worn and they did not all appear to have lids. It would be a struggle to cook for six with the equipment provided. The standard of equipment was equivalent to a student kitchen! 2. The bedding was of poor quality, the duvets were made of a synthetic material and the sheets were so thin that you could see the pattern of the mattress through them. The towels were also worn. 3. The whole property requires painting internally - there were multiple wear marks on the walls and doors. 4. The fences in the back garden require painting - they are of different colours and appear scruffy - this is not a pleasant place to sit. 5. A pint of milk in the fridge upon arrival would have been appreciated .
