  Rusko Stables is a lovely, well equipped holiday accommodation. We enjoyed staying there and found it was generally well suited to our needs. We know the area and this was a very good base to visit from. Having an en suite for each bedroom was perfect. The description of the accommodation was accurate, but it would have been helpful to know that the middle bedroom didn’t have a wardrobe or storage. With an adult and a 17 year old sharing it as a twin room, it was a bit awkward as they had to store their clothes in the cupboards in the hallway outside. The kitchen, lounge, dining area is very nice and a social space, although some side tables would be handy. The view from the patio at the back is beautiful, but the space could be better equipped and utilised, and could use some shade or a canopy. It’s also a bit impractical to take food and drinks all the way down the stairs and around the building. A garden space at the front would be easier to access for outside dining and drinks. Overall we had a lovely holiday and really enjoyed our stay at Rusko Stables.

  Lovely accomodation. Everything very nicely laid out. Lovely and warm (we turned the heating off in Feb as it got too warm for us!) Thoughtfully included some toiletries in each bathroom (we only had one of everything so that was very handy!) Lovely to have the outside space and fire pit too - we used that one clear evening to stargaze (stunning on a clear night) and toast marshmallows. Oh and WiFi was good which was a massive relief with three teens! Great location too. V close to the A75 which enables you to explore easily. Spar shop in Gatehouse itself but Aldi and Tesco a bit further away. Beautiful beaches!

  We stayed in the Byre for a week. Everything about it was amazing. Even bigger and better than the pictures online. We were blessed with beautiful sunshine all week which only enhanced the picturesque setting. Sarah and Andy are fantastic hosts and made us feel very welcome. We (including our dog) loved the walks on the nearest beaches (Mossyard and Dhoon) especially when the tide was out. Our visit to the local Red Kite Centre was fantastic where hundreds of Red Kites are fed daily at 2pm. All within 20-30mins drive from Grobdale. Highly recommend and can't wait to return. Tina, Andy and Maddie (the dog).

  The house is in a lovely position & the views are great. The house itself was missing some things … more space to put our own food & non perishable items, kitchen roll, cling film all of which we had to purchase . Also more crockery because there was only 4 of everything apart from mugs, & cooking for 3 of us a 3 course dinner every night meant washing up all the time! More toilet roles would have been good, we had to buy them as well! The hot water went wrong so we had no hot water for 3 days, but the owner did apologise for this & a plumber eventually fixed it!

  Wonderful location and excellent accommodation. Very comfortable beds and beautiful rooms. This house is in a lovely peaceful location with a variety of wildlife on the doorstep. What a joy it was to see a red squirrel on our first morning !! It is also located in the most beautiful surroundings especially the coast which is quite spectacular. If you also add really excellent places to eat and very friendly owners of the property it is a recipe for a great holiday.
