What our customers say about their holidays
Steve - Verified booking
They say, âbig is beautifulâ, well, in this case, small is gorgeous and perfectly formed.
From the ingenious design and exceptionally high standard of finish to the high-end quality of every item within it. The âWelcome Folderâ is perfectly laid out and instructions are clear, precise, and easily understood as is the pre-arrival information. Everything works as it should (the shower should win an award as should the bed and half a dozen other items) and itâs difficult to think of anything you could possibly need that isnât available. The âWelcome Packâ is extensive and includes too many items to list and again it is of top quality. No worries about arriving and needing to get to the shops straight away. Logs and kindling for the log burner are also readily available for the whole stay, not just a starter pack. Then there is the garden and the summer house (great heater in there and it was super-toastie even when it was -4 outside), the seating, barbecue, chimera, water feature etc.etc. Again, all top quality and would allow you to enjoy the cottage whatever the weather or season. The thought, generosity, and attention to detail afforded by the owners is quite extraordinary and the longer you stay there the more details and wonders you discover. However, this really doesnât do Hangmanâs Cottage justice, only by staying there can you possibly enjoy and appreciate what is on offer. It really is incredible. Not so much a holiday as an experience. I have stayed in many cottages and the like over the years, and this is by far the best in its class. Outstanding in every department. The only downfall is that you eventually have to leave. Thank you, Joy and James, for a wonderful stay. Superb.

We have spent Christmas week at 12 Bank street and from the first impressions through to the excellent communication with the hosts, we were not disappointed.
We walked in and the radio was playing in the kitchen/diner, the house was sympathetically trimmed for Christmas. We have stayed in holiday homes for years and this house is outstanding, every thing thought through. I cooked a traditional Christmas dinner without worrying about a shortage of equipment. The quality of everything is to a hight standard, home from home. Look out for the remotes for the lamps, a really nice touch and something we have already bought for our home.Nice touches all around the house. We spent more time than we would normally in the house due to the miserable weather and found it very comfortable. The local shops and pubs were visited and everyone friendly and welcoming. We unloaded outside the house and then parked a minutes walk away and had no issues when we went out and returned in getting a parking space. Whether a visitors book would be useful? we did not locate one and maybe a throw to use in the lounge as whilst the heating and log burner are very good, its nice to feel cosy. No hairdryer at this time in the house which is fine as long as you know before you arrive. We would definitely recommend a stay. Thank you Alan and Jamielah.

It's not how you described, it's what you did not !
On the pictures it was so decieving,as it showed a shingle driveway, which we thought was somewhere to walk our little dog ,also having to park opposite the house, in a dirt layby on a main road 60 miles an hour, was not practical as I and my partner have mobility issues!very dangerous ,we assumed when you said it had a gas hob it would have an oven ! Never have booked if it was mentioned, also microwave was not the same as pictures, so tiny! You also said road noise but did not mention the fast road right outside, also it is not dog friendly, unless you had a enclosed garden, or patio, we have not been out for 3 years,I have only been out of hospital for 3 weeks due to pneumonia! and it was going to be a quiet time away, but this cottage broke my heart on my birthday!!! We only stayed for less than 30 minutes, and spent all of our money, very much upset and disappointed, in the future describe as it is and do not deceive anyone else, would now call on you to do the right thing and refund us at least some of the cost, will never go with Sykes again ,worst experience ever,it's not what you said it is about what you did not say! about the place! Very upset, jayne

12 Banks Street is an amazing, quirky property.
It is ideally situated in the town, with everything being within a few minutes walk away, including pubs, restaurants, bakery, coffee and tea shops and the supermarkets. The home is furnished to an excellent standard and is very well kept. The attention to detail is excellent, with lots of quirky items on show. The Kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed and more. The owners provide so much more than other properties we have stayed at, such as foil, dish cloths, salt, pepper etc. The bathroom also providing lots of good quality goodies, such as shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, bathroom cleaning products and more. The soft furnishing are high quality and the sofa and beds really comfortable. I am a harsh critic when it comes to staying away and i could not find a fault with this home, any guest who visits will be wowed. We had a great time relaxing, going on walks and it is situated well for visiting the coast and popular tourist areas. You will definitely not be disappointed if you book to stay here.

What an amazing find !
A truly stunning and unique bijou property. The owner's attention to detail is second to none. From the minute you enter through the gate , you're entering what feels like a secret garden, full of surprises. On entering the property, the use of the space, the finish, the decor, and the additional historical info on said Hangman , William Marwood,( I polished off the biography in 2 days) is excellent. You can feel the love that's gone into transforming the cottage . We were greeted by seasonal local produce along with a plethora of additional treats, and an immaculately clean cottage , topped off by first rate communication from the owner . Parking, adjacent to the cottage was not an issue and was always free , Even considering the Easter break additional traffic. Hangmans cottage is by far the best quality experience we have had, and we use these types of accommodation regularly. If you can't already tell we LOVED it .
