What our customers say about their holidays

Lovely stay at Taf cottage with the extended family.
Everything was very clean and the kitchen was well equipped (under counter fridge with ice box a little small but manageable) and the hot tub was excellent. Thereâs a new walk-in shower in the main bathroom (replaced the bath in photos) which was a nice surprise and not an issue as weâd brought a baby bath with us. Muriel was very welcoming, kindly leaving us some wine and an Easter egg on arrival and was very helpful during our stay, with recommendations of places to visit and walks with the dog. We would recommend Brechfa forest walks, although the roads to the Keeperâs car park are very narrow! Aberglasney gardens are well worth a visit and the National Botanical gardens were also good, providing a week long ticket so you could revisit. The cottage is situated about 8 minutes from the A40, in peaceful countryside, so would recommend bringing key food supplies with you when you arrive. We found a good range of supermarkets in Carmarthen about 20 mins away. Lovely restful break with easy access to some stunning beaches about 30 mins away.

The sealant around the shower needs replacing, black mould in a small area.
The crockery needs replacing as several plates have chips out of them. There were crumbs around the cooker and dust under the beds on arrival. There were no instructions on how to put the heating on and there was no kindling left or enough logs to light the wood burner even once. Instructions on how to get the water in the shower hot would have been helpful instead of having to call the owner. Recommendations of places to eat further afield would have been helpful as the local pubs were not serving food the nights we tried. The welcome basket would have been a nice thought had the coffee not been rock hard so obviously not been checked before we arrived. We also didn't discover this basket until two days after we arrived as the free newspaper of things to do had been placed on top of it. Our first experience of a cottage holiday will not be repeated

A really damp smell in the bathroom ,due to ill fitting(leaking) shower screen.
Somuch so that all of our belongings still have a musty smell to them. Also there were so many mosquitoes indoors ( which might have been caused by the damp) we got bit so many times that by the Tuesday night weâd made our minds up that we would go home. The bad weather coming in was also contributory but not the prime reason as we understand the weather cannot be guaranteed! The towels were starting to smell (despite having taken our own for the hot tub) as we were not given any hand towels. The lane approaching the cottage was very narrow and we were told that not much traffic used it but on lots of occasions we were forced to reverse(vehicles would continue to push at us, forcing us back)We should have been warned of this. In all, we were very disappointed. We paid £463.00 for Friday night -Wednesday morning so not a very good deal!

Wow, an absolutely wonderful location, fantastic accommodation and Muriel ( together with her lovely family) our wonderful, helpful host.
From the start we were made to feel at home and nothing too much trouble. The accommodation (Taf Cottage) was lovely and clean, spacious and so homely. The bed was really comfortable and a good size. The showers really lovely.and easy to use. The kitchen is really well equippedeasy to use and everything lovely and clean, as if new. The lounge is very cosy, spacious providing free internet , Outside, a hot tub which is checked every morning to a BBQ , table and chairs and absolutely wonderful stunning views, no light pollution and REALLY quite, day and night. All in all an absolute gem, a fantastic holiday, great location and fabulous host. Unfortunately I have to mention that this holiday was brill and I have no hesitation RECOMMENDING THIS HOLIDAY to our families and friends THANK YOU..

A second visit to celebrate my 70th.
Beautiful location. Peaceful...(till we got there) We had such a relaxing time and were lovely and warm . I need a walker to get about and the cottage is fully accessible, though a wheelchair might have a bit of a problem cos of some tight corners....please check. I think I mentioned last time that , being picky, I felt the pillows were a bit thin.....and this time, brand new lovely bouncy pillows. Really comfy beds and sofa. Great warm welcome.Thank you. One of our party said they wanted a bigger frying pan....but we are little piggies with our trotters in the trough much of the time....so you will probably find it all adequate. Definitely recommend Taf Cottage. Thank you for a lovely stay.
