What our customers say about their holidays

We had a fantastic stay here at Muscat.
The property was beautiful and felt safe and comfortable. The area was also in a good location and was close to other tourist areas if you have a car (and we saw a bus stop very close by too). Jon and Mel answered any questions we had and kindly provided us with basic necessities such as tea, milk, coffee, sugar and biscuits etc.. thank you. There were certain small things which could have been improved but certainly did not impact our stay. We felt there was definitely a need for a serving spoon or ladle in the kitchen cupboards. There seemed to be everything else other then this. There were also no cleaning facilities despite asking us to leave the lodge clean and tidy upon our departure (we had to go out and buy surface wipes/toilet rolls etc as there were no spares). Also could have done with some washing up liquid (we were left with an empty bottle which had enough for a plate or two). We did find a few dead insects upon arrival also but again, this was an easy fix and easily missed. Overall though, there is everything you could want. An easy to use hot tub, tourist magazines/leaflets, TVâs, two bathrooms, lots of kitchen equipment and guides on how to use oven etc.. and most of all, a beautiful lodge. Thank you both for a wonderful stay. We will definitely recommend/would return in the future.

The kitchen/lounge area of the lodge was clean and generally well fitted out.
The addition of a teapot would be good and also a 2nd oven glove - lifting a hot dish out of the oven with 1 hand is not really safe. However, it is in the bathrooms that my criticism begins. The sink is way too small and it is difficult to get your head over the sink when cleaning your teeth/shaving. When sitting on the loo you can easily see very dirty marks on the front of the shower tray - not acceptable. Sealant in the shower had dirt/mould on it - but even worse was the appalling smells that both shower rooms gave from the drains once you have taken a shower. Not nice when you sleep in the adjoining bedrooms and a possible health risk. Only 1 toilet roll was provided for each bathroom for a weeks stayâ¦. Also a hairdryer being provided would have been better than having to carry my own. Luxury lodge - no . Eco lodge - not sure how that can be with a hot tub outside, although not used by us. Such a shame as there is so much to enjoy about this accommodationâ¦..but not by us again.

We all loved the eco lodge with hot tub.
The setting is peaceful and beautifully maintained. There is public transport to Ryde and to Shanklin just outside the mermaid distillery which is really handy. The pub is also friendly and serves a limited menu but the food is good. The lodge itself is well stocked with everything that is needed for a comfortable stay. All the appliances in the kitchen worked. Bathroom clean and a lovely shower. Beds were comfortable and fans provided in all rooms as there was no windows to open and they did get a little hot during the night. There were a couple of issues, lamp not working and hooks no longer secure to the wall, that had not been reported by previous guests but Mel was easily contactable and offered to send maintenance around, however we chose to leave the issues to be resolved once we left. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and would highly recommend the eco lodges as a perfect base to stay for exploring the Isle of Wight.

Absolutely perfect lodge, clean tidy very modern, easy parking, lovely views i really enjoyed the hot tub, shower very good, i really enjoyed our stay and would recommend you to anyone, the only things that werenât perfect, was the daddy longlegs , i donât think the green light above the doors worked, needed a small window in the bedrooms , it got a bit stuffy at night, i did open glass door, which helped then all the daddy longlegs came in , the main bedroom doors ( fire doors ) a bit heavy, and needed oven gloves, and apart from the wet weather, you have a lovely small collection of lodges perfectly placed, best holiday Iâve had in years pity my mother in law had to come with us, and a thank you to Mel for returning my calls and being so helpful, Malcolm akhurst

Great accommodation and a very enjoyable stay.
Mel was really helpful with any queries we had both before and during our stay. The lodge was well equipped and spotlessly clean. If I were to nit pick, small niggles were lack of hooks or anywhere to hang coats and no full length mirror. The slab on the step out of the main bedroom was loose, kept falling off and could be a trip hazard. The road at the back was busy, didnât cause us any noise issues but was noticeable whilst in the hot tub. The fire system caused sleep issues for the first 3 nights due to the bright green ceiling lights that canât be turned off, until we employed a work around. The smoke alarms are also ultra sensitive. The pub being a minutes walk away was much appreciated as was the excellent gin. Would definitely stay again if we return to IOW.
