What our customers say about their holidays

Absolutely loved our holiday at 11 Cove View!
I think itâs the best place weâve ever stayed in. Ethan, the host was communicative, professional and very helpful. There were clear instructions of how to enter the appartment by using the key safe. Ethan allowed us an early check in and sorted us out a 3rd parking space. The appartment was very well equipped. The kitchen had everything you could think of. The Den was such an added bonus, itâs a huge lounge downstairs, massive TV and very comfortable. We took a games console with us and the adults and younger people enjoyed this space. The views are stunning! Bedrooms are spacious with comfortable beds, 2 of the bedrooms had a shared balcony, what a bonus! The lounge was breath taking. As soon as we walked in we just stood there with our mouths open ⦠wow! So comfy, incredible views. Lovely bathroom and en-suite too. We really loved this place and didnât want to go home. Very short walk to the beach, the harbour, the pub on the corner thereâs also a private set of steps when returning from the beach or pub save waking all the way round up the hill to the front gate. Thereâs a great little garden out the front too. The high street is a short walk up the hill and has a lovely Indian restaurant. We would really recommend staying at 11 Cove View there were 7 of us who stayed there with 2 dogs and we found it very spacious.

Comfortable, clean, modern and well appointed flat in the centre of Ilfracombe close to the harbour and shops.
We enjoyed our week long stay in mid May and appreciated the generous welcome pack that our hosts provided. Very comfortable for a couple, cosy for 4 perhaps. Tips - Sleeping: if early morning light wakes you up, bring eye masks as the shutters let in a lot of light. The back bedroom is quieter than the front. Parking - we bought the seven day North Devon rover parking (£50 for the week online), which let us park in the Cove car park by the harbour, 3 mins walk away and covers you in Lynmouth and elsewhere (defo worth a visit with Watersmeet walk a must if you like walking). Balcony sun: to clarify previous reviews, mid May, we got sun in the morning until 9.15 and then for an hour in the evening just after 7. June and July the sun coverage should be longer I'd guess. Sitting there looking and listening to the sea is great in the sun, though a little too cool out of the sun in May. Things to do -great coastal driving with plenty of low gear driving and a few tight roads. Good local walks up the two hills and past Raparee cove if you fancy more of a challenge. And try the Ilfracombe ghost tour - a couple of hours of easy walking good fun, which may have you looking over your shoulder as the sounds of the past come back. 'Good morning' George :-)

Accommodation was warm however that is about all I can say about it.
Owner says it sleeps 2/4 people so we assumed we could have the bed and kids could sleep on the sofa bed, that didn't happen! My partner and both children slept in the bed and I tried to sleep on the cobbled street they said was a sofa bed. We ended up leaving a day early because 3 nights with no sleep was about enough for me. I did bring it up with the owner and was told no-one had complained before which isn't true. When we returned home I checked the reviews and someone else had mentioned it before which, in fairness had seen but the review had been commented on by the owner saying all issues had been resolved NOT TRUE. Access to the the garden was through a door with a padlock on and unless I asked we wouldn't have been told by the owner, it felt like they don't actually want you to use it but put it on their advert to make it sound like your getting more than you do. After not sleeping on the last night I took our dog for a walk at 5am and when I returned the door was locked and I couldn't access the Accommodation because you share the entrance with the owner which isn't pointed out on booking. After all is said the area is beautiful and well worth a visit, just find some other accommodation. Wouldn't stay again and definitely wouldn't recommend.

Beautifully maintained apartment, gorgeous high ceilings from a bygone era, furniture was very comfortable, especially the bed.
So important to have a comfortable bed when away from home. Lovely bathroom too, very spacious and clean. Good quality kitchen tools and equipment, the only thing I'd say was missing was a 'normal' frying pan rather than the wok styled pan. (We actually bring our own as we often find frying pans are not fit for use). A liner for the grill pan would have been appreciated, as it happens, we bring our own foil to do this with but some cottage owners do put a liner in the base of the grill pan. It was a real home from home as we spent all day Monday in the apartment as it was The Queen's funeral so a real test of homeliness. We also had to buy food to cook as there was nowhere open on Monday evening (due to Queen's funeral) so the grill and hob really did a great job. One extra dishwashing tablet would have been handy. The only thing we found 'odd' was the coat hook in the hallway - it must've been put up by a very tall man as my 6ft 2 hubby struggled to reach it and at 5ft 1 I had no chance! We liked the balcony too but didn't use it much. We rarely ever revisit the same place but if we were to revisit Ilfracombe we'd happily look to rent this apartment again. It feels spacious, homely and is very clean. Big tick!

The listing advertised the property as suitable for 6 people.
Whilst the bedrooms had 2 double and 2 single beds, the downstairs accommodation could only barely accommodate 2 adults and 1 teenager. The photos definitely make it look bigger than it is. Misleading. The advertised trampoline was not there and the garden furniture was rotten and very unsafe. The games room was in poor condition with much of the equipment broken. All of the darts were broken so we only used the pool table. Access to the games room and garden was not child friendly at all and the rear entry point was a series of poorly maintained gates and doors that bordered on being dangerous. The bathroom window was broken and could not be closed. Whilst the accommodation was clean it was generally run down with much of the equipment needing to be replaced ie living room table leg was falling off, the kitchen knives had tips broken off. There was only 1 parking space available for the property which would not be ideal if you were booking for 6 guests. I would not recommend this accommodation for anyone with young children, the elderly, or anyone with mobility issues due to the amount of stairs and uneven floors and extremely poor lighting.
