What our customers say about their holidays

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Brynhir Farm!
Rooms: The barn and the rooms inside it were lovely and spacious, and it had a nice homey feel. We liked that both bedrooms had their own en-suites and TVâs. Cleanliness: Brynhir farm was spotlessly clean when we arrived. Amenities/Facilities: All of the facilities in the kitchen, bathroom and lounge areas worked perfectly and were high quality. We had everything we needed during our stay (enough cutlery/crockery, seating, towels etc). We also made use of the hot tub on several occasions during our stay which was very relaxing and was pre-heated upon our arrival so we could use it straight away. Distance from attractions: Brynhir Farm is a little bit of a drive away from some attractions however we loved being out in the country and still managed to visit Llandrindod Wells (which is one of the closest towns to the barn and has a lovely lake to visit), the Small Breeds Animal Farm, Aberystwyth, and Elan Valley. Property owner: Mrs. Nixon made us feel so welcome and at home in the barn during our stay! She showed us around when we arrived and was so friendly. Other: One of our favourite parts of staying at Brynhir Farm was being able to sit out on the balcony and watch the Red Kites flying over in the mornings. There were even binoculars provided to make this even better for us! Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Brynhir Farm and weâd definitely recommend it to anyone who was visiting mid-Wales and weâd love to come back if we visit again.

We loved staying at Grove Cottage!
It was comfortably furnished with a lovely mix of old and new and very well-equipped. On arrival we found a wonderful welcome hamper, plus milk in the fridge, coffee and tea, and a gorgeous homemade victoria sponge. There were also supplies of toilet rolls, handwash, clingfilm and foil, plus cleaning products. The upstairs is quite dinky, just the two bedrooms, the double a good size, the twin fairly compact, but downstairs has been very imaginatively extended to make a very spacious living space. One point that is not mentioned in the details is that, no doubt as a result of extending an old cottage, there are a lot of changes of floor level downstairs, some actual steps, but some just enough to make a trip hazard until you're used to them. Other than that, the cottage is delightful! There was no shortage of hot water and the heating was easy to control (despite it being June, the weather was so chilly we used it selectively morning and evening). The pretty garden, beautifully maintained, was lovely to sit in when we did get some sun and my husband really enjoyed the hot tub. One final positive in our eyes was that all the windows had blinds or, in the case of the large window in the lounge/diner, thick curtains. On a chilly night, it was nice to be able to close off the encroaching darkness, even though the cottage was secluded, but too many holiday cottages seem to think it unnecessary.

Wow what a brilliant retreat.
Repeat visit required for sure! Grove cottage is a beautiful game keepers cottage, just off the beaten track pretty much secluded, in the grounds of a golf course beautiful decor and amenities. Comfortable, clean and it says come back for more. The hamper was the best we've ever had with any break we've had through Sykes, cake, eggs, bread, snacks etc etc even milk.to enjoy a coffee once we arrived and seeming it was our wedding anniversary break Zena and Roger had left us an extra celebratory gift in the fridge to enjoy toasting in the hot tub later. Thank you :-) We enjoyed our time visited the Hickory stick restaurant for the Wednesday Steak and bowl which we couldn't fault with friends who visited for the day but they also do food through out the day starting with breakfast til 6pm. Recommended to friends already and they will be booking up too. Things we did while there, was a trip to the Newcourt cider just down the road, The Bush Inn for a very different afternoon tea, Monkland cheese dairy, local cosy pub in Leominster the White lion and Coffee, cake and more at St Michael's hospice coffee and books. Sure there's lots more to explore yet that we didn't get to do. We did plan to go to Queenswood park/arboretum and a few walks and a visit to the local deli in town but that'll be on the list next time. As you can see a most enjoyable stay.

My partner and I stayed at the barn for 5 nights in November.
As soon as we entered the accommodation we noticed how warm and clean it was. We left our luggage in one of the downstairs bedrooms and the headed up the stairs. The upper floor has a gorgeous open plan layout with a spacious living room at one end and a huge kitchen area at the other. The place was spotless and contained everything we needed for our stay. The owner, Mrs Nixon, came over to greet us and is very friendly. Situated in mid Wales, the barn is in the ideal spot for days out. We were lucky with the weather and went out everyday but we would have happily spent all day in the barn if it was raining. We were amazed at how quiet it was. The only sounds outside being the wildlife which includes a pair or Red Kites that sit in the trees opposite the barn. Great for wildlife photography. We have already booked to go back again in the summer and would thoroughly recommend it. 10/10

Have just stayed at Grove cottage , a lovely cosy 2 bedroom property.
On arrival there was a basket of goodies, biscuits, crisps, eggs, milk, and a fantastic home made cake .The host Zena popped in to check everything was ok .The property is lovely and private up a track that ends at the property .Everything you could want is there if you want to cook up a meal, or ,if not, at the start of the track is the golf driving range where we ate the first night .There is also crazy golf and a bowling alley there.Although secluded you are not far from places such a Leominster,Ludlow and Hereford.Having a hot tub was great as we sipped wine looking up at all the stars in such a black sky, which you donât get in the city with all the light pollution .The lounge has a log burning fire which made for a cosy atmosphere and I would highly recommend this property as the hosts have thought of everything you may need .
