What our customers say about their holidays

The lodge was situated on a working farm in an ideal situation.
The location, views, quietness and general ambiance could not be faulted. However, the lodge itself left a lot to be desired. Although we spoke on the phone ONCE with the owner, at no time did she bother to walk across the road to made sure all was well. Issues that need to be noted are - 1. the sofas are dirty and old fashioned. 2. the tv is very old and too far away from the sofas to view. We had to move the furniture each evening. 3. the fridge was TOTALLY inadequate for 6 people. 4. the kitchen waste bin was small and there were no additional bin liners provided. 5. the kitchen utensils were a hotchpotch of miscellaneous items. 6. although there was a washing machine, there was no facility to dry washing. 7. the wooden bench outside was old and in need of a make over. There was also no sun umbrella for our use or cushions provided. 8. the cleaning ladies arrived on Saturday morning at 09.30 promptly and clearly had no interest in whether we had enjoyed our holiday. They did not even acknowledge our presence. I wonder if Mrs. Proctor actually checks the properties when they have finished. 9. Having enjoyed 3 holidays with Sykes Holiday Cottages, we feel that this property lets your company down and someone needs to visit the properties to check on the accuracy of what is being offered, particularly having paid a premium price for the rental. 10. we noted in the property handbook that dogs were welcome if well behaved! We had booked pet free accommodation as our son has an allergy to dog hair. 11. We would be more than happy to discuss these issues on the telephone.

We booked Phoenix as a last minute holiday and we couldnât have been happier!
The whole park was lovely and quiet and the hot tub was perfect to relax in. We also brought our dog which was a massive bonus as thereâs not many places where dogs are accepted! We will definitely be booking again and we canât wait for our next stay âºï¸ the only thing I would add for people who bring their dogs, (which I donât think has anything to do with the property itself or the owners, just more of a heads up!) but the hot tub maintenance who comes to check the hot tub on a daily basis donât come at a set time. So just make sure you keep your ears peeled for them as the guy startled our dog to which he started barking which startled the guy coming to do the hot tub! I think if a set time could be put in place for when they come would be fantastic so people can keep their dogs in for the few minutes theyâre here! I know itâs easier said then done âºï¸

We booked this cottage as my older Uncle and Aunt wanted to see Northumberland and it is ideally placed to visit many locations.
What a great find. The lodge was perfect. Can easily sleep 6 adults and has 2 shower rooms and a bathroom. So comfortable and well equipped. Dianne is an absolute darling and ensures everything is as she would want it. Unlike many self catered properties she supplied us with milk, bacon, orange juice, fruit bread, tea and coffee along with the more practical tea towels, cloths, dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid. Wifi was good too so no worries if your phone signal isn't great in that area. To top it off we had the most gorgeous pair of twin lambs to entertain us each day. The 4 of them escaped their Mum's a few times and played in front of the lodge. Dianne also sent her husband over to dig me some wild garlic for my garden. They honestly couldn't do enough for us. Would highly recommend and hope to go back.

We had had an amazing week in Tartaria, the hosts Yvonne & Ray go above and beyond with the facilities and welcome pack, everything you need is there.
We loved the power shower plenty of hot water and the mattress was comfortable however the cream leather sofa in the living room was very low and was uncomfortable after a time so had to switch to the brown sofa. That being said it would not deter us from returning to Tartaria in the future. Northumberland is a wonderful area with lots of places to visit, Tynemouth, Warkworth, Cragside, Bamburgh and Holy Island are a must whilst you stay. Morpeth lovely for a dull day and La Rosso Italian restaurant does a lunch time special menu the food was so good then you can go into the park up to Morpeth Castle or the riverside walk. We also had a wonderful week weather wise so were able to sit in the lovely garden in the evening with a glass of wine.

Mr & Mrs Proctor are very approachable, they had thought about the essentials on arrival, wine, cake and bread, very thoughtful.
The lodges are extremely comfortable, very warm and very clean. All facilities are modern and efficient, hot water is plentiful and the heating can be set to just how you like it. The location is just about right, it is a very rural position but only 10mins away from shops, public house etc. The lodges are within a working farm environment so you will get the sounds and smells that go with farming, so don't be surprised when they are feeding the cattle at 7.30 in the morning, although we never heard anything once inside the lodge. Overall a great weeks holiday in a nice location with friendly hosts who try to think of everything.
