What our customers say about their holidays
Mr Walker - Verified booking
The owners have made a very good job of creating a comfortable, well equipped, bright, contemporary style apartment from a former fisherman's cottage. This one benefits from a good end of terrace position on the upper level and a small balcony to sit out on overlooking Seahouses harbour and The Farne Isles in the distance. (The view from the living room is equally very good and can be improved with the binoculars provided!). Despite the central location we had no issues with parking on-street below the property during our stay. Ensuite has spacious walk-in shower with rainfall and wall mounted options. Good facilities to self-cater if that's what you're looking for and Co-Op is nearby for supplies. (Only an ice-box in the fridge so no option to stock up a freezer). Of the eating out options within walking distance we liked The Black Swan Inn (albeit quite pricey) and Insieme Restaurant. Plenty of others within driving distance when exploring the surrounding area. We had forgotten how tight for space it is in a double bed and early morning sunlight flooded the bedroom so we didn't sleep particularly well (despite there being surprisingly no noise issues for a central, seafront location). With a king-sized bed and black-out curtains it would have been pretty much ideal, but we still enjoyed our week-long stay in this very nice apartment in a very scenic and interesting part of the country. Oh, and a Farne Island trip with "Serenity" is well worth the time and money.

The plus points first. Harbour Hideaway is in a fantastic location in Seahouses. Very handy for all the lovely local amenities. The convenient parking space is right outside the property. The decor is modern and the layout well thought out. For the size it is well equipped, the combined microwave is a larger model. We found the sofa bed to be comfortable and easy to convert from sofa to a bed. The views from the property are beautiful, with lovely walks along the coast. However, Harbour Hideaway is very small, once the sofa bed is made up, you can only just walk around it. The main space, not including the front door recess is app 2.3 metres, (less 40cm for the kitchen run, approx 1.9 metres) by 3.2 metres approx. There is a small recess for the front door. We found damp and high levels of humidity to be a problem and have provided the owner with photos. Thankfully we had lovely weather because it would be difficult drying wet coats, shoes and walking coats in such a confined space. There is very little storage space and we had to leave rucksacks, walking shoes and jackets in the car. All bedding and towels are provided but there were only two pillows, for two people. There is not room in the sofa bed storage for all the bedding, we had to leave a pillow out during the day. We stayed for five nights and found it a little challenging because of the lack of space and lack of storage.

We had a lovely & much needed weekâs break in the stunningly appointed Brindles Manse.
The property is finished to an extremely high standard yet still maintains a warm, cosy country feel. Despite the current Covid-19 restrictions, we felt extremely safe due to the extra precautions put in place (late check in/early check out, anti-bac hand wash throughout & NHS Track Trace on door). There were some VERY MINOR things we noted but these did not detract from our stay. ⢠Kitchen knives very blunt & there is no steel. ⢠Laundry instructions, for end of you stay, are somewhat confusing. In places it says leave everything in bathroom but elsewhere advises, due to Covid, please put everything in sealed bag provided (1 bin bag only). ⢠A very kind neighbour removes the dustbin the evening before collection & returns it. Interestingly however, bins are placed âon the corner as you turn into Brindles Manseâ not âon the driveâ eg: where you park your car. ⢠As another guest review had mentioned, we wouldâve preferred the kitchen TV in the living room. However, we couldnât tune in the Smart TV to the wifi (log into Netflix etc) so left it in situ. We had a lovely stay. The beds were extremely comfortable & the shower is amazing! Could hold a dance in the kitchen itâs so big yet it still maintains a warm cosy feel. If you prefer more than Freeview TV, bring a Firestick or a good book! You couldnât ask for more in a stunning part of the country.

A great property in a super location.
It had been finished to a high spec with a lot of thought. Considering the current situation with Covid we had expected less so were pleasantly surprised. All feedback is minor as we had a lovely stay and have recommended the property to friends. We would have liked a visitors book to add thanks and comments for the owners. The tv with dvd facilities was in the kitchen rather than the lounge which they may want to rethink / swap. We still played our films so was fine just comfier to sit in the lounge of a evening. The bed in the double room felt small we werenât sure if it was a three quarter rather than a double. With a 6 foot 4 husband it felt a bit cramped but we managed. Overall just being out of our house in another place after months of lockdown and working from home was wonderful. The beach nearby was gorgeous and we enjoyed walking into Seahouses most days too. Thank you

Very clean property, lovely house from the outside and located in peaceful culdesac, couldnât understand why all rooms were not pictured on the website .
Would have liked it nearer to Seahouses to avoid driving to the village to park each day and then Iâd be able to indulge in an alcoholic drink but that was my poor judgement and lack of nearer properties. All in all a lovely place to stay which was nearby all my favourite places . Small token of a welcome pack or welcome card would have been well received.Ive been visiting Northumberland since I was a child and as an adult this was one of the first times no card or small welcome token wasnât provided . But would definetly recommend it .Night lights were nice touch at night . Great amount of coat hangers too .
