What our customers say about their holidays

The cottage is cute, well located, main road.
Here ends the good part. No info at all, Wi-Fi password on a filthy piece of paper that we found after calling several times and no answer. Everything was filthy (I took pictures) the kitchen cabinets, dust and spiders; the windows; the fridge whit foil residue, the rug was so dirty, full of stains. The table covered with a table cloth ( not clean) hiding the wood rotten and dirty. The white coach, yellowish. The furniture coming from the cheapest flea market. I found on the floor in the bathroom a used cotton pad and paper clearly been used to dry the ears. No toilet paper, just a bit on the roll. I found a label of a size M t- shirt on the floor when I tried to reach it and I looked under the bed ( I have pictures:(. I spent one hour cleaning. I consider this a total lack of respect for me as a paying guest. Unprofessional, disgusting, I donât want to know where I was sleeping.I have pictures of everything. And the parking situation complicated but in this case we wonât blame the cottage. Thank you.

The cottage is potentially lovely.
.quirky and interesting. Nice kitchen with Belfast sink, dishwasher, washer; attractive wooden fold back doors to upper terrace. But, the property has an air of neglect and needs a deep clean and investment of time and money. Cracked toilet cistern which flooded the bathroom on our first evening; no bedroom curtains or blinds ((except ill-fitting voile across the glass door - nothing at other two windows), stained rug & settee covers, dirty light switches, large cobwebs, marked yellow wall (needs painting), thin worn bed sheet (which didnât go with quilt cover) and stained pillow cover, rusted coffee maker, split chopping board, chipped mug, only one glass tumbler, only 3 teaspoons, a tiny cafetière for two cups - but no cupsâ¦. We have reported all this to Sykes at their request but have had no further reply. Claire, the Haven property manager, was brilliant in getting a plumber to replace the toilet the next day and providing some resources needed.

Absolutely beautiful, spotlessly clean and decorated cottage with framed prints of local landscapes in each room.
Waking up to the fantantastic views made me feel like we were in another world. Our first evening at the cottage we sat in the garden taking in the view of the Moelwyn Mountains and enjoyed drinking the wine that was left chilled in the fridge for us (Thankyou Sarah). The neighbours and all the locals were friendly and knowledgeable of the area which was great. There are so many things to see and do locally, Portmeirion, Harlech Castle, shopping and lunch in Caenarfon. We were unsure what attractions would be open during our week, but there was plenty to do and we enjoyed our week as much as we would have done anytime. We highly recommend Moelwyn View Cottage and now that I have been to Snowdonia, I so much want to visit again , maybe with my sisters who I know would love it as much as I did. Such a lovely holiday that was so needed after a challenging few months.

We had a fantastic stay in Gorynys.
The property is modern and comfortable. The location is great - really quiet area but within walking distance or short car ride to 3 fantastic beaches including a short 15/20 min walk to the Ty Coch Inn. The garden is lovely, relaxing and very safe for our dog. We had plenty of hot water thanks to the 'boost' buttons. The kitchen is small but functional and it was nice having an extra fridge freezer in the outside utility room. The only issue we had was with the wheelie bins which were very full when we arrived. We left the bins out on the indicated day but the general refuse was not collected. I presume this means it is a fortnightly collection - if this is the case then a laminated calendar in the kitchen would be helpful to instruct guests when this bin should be left out for collection. We'd definitely stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Patty's Cottage, Little Haven is a lovely place to stay especially with the Pembrokeshire Coastal running past the cottage door.
The cottage is quite quirky but has all the amenities that are required to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. The cottage is a little tired and could do with some TLC especially the patio which was over grown and full of leaves. This did not give the inviting atmosphere as stated in the notes. It is a shame that there is no guest information regarding emergency numbers i.e. Doctors Surgery. Also WIFI details as we had to phone the Maintenance Company to see where the WIFI was and what the code was. It would also be useful to have a guest book so you can see where other people have been and recommendations for meals and sight seeing. We have always found this in other Sykes Cottages. However, as we have said we have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the cottage.
